π Solidroad is an AI conversation simulator. Like a flight simulator, but for sales calls. Top sales reps use it to practice their pitches, get tailored feedback on where to improve, and generally elevate their sales game. π
The idea for Solidroad stemmed from my 6+ years working in software sales. I was a BDR & AE at Intercom before becoming the Head of Sales EMEA at Chargify (now Maxio) and setting up my first start-up Gradguide which helped grads land entry level sales jobs.
As a rep, the best way to practice sales calls is by taking sales calls but instead due to a fear of burning valuable leads you are left to shadow calls, watch back recordings or at best do manual role-plays.
On the flip side, as a manager it is very difficult to provide tailored 1x1 feedback to each rep on your team due to limited capacity.
Solidroad solves both these problems.
Sales reps can practice and improve difficult sales scenarios with an AI prospect or customer and receive real-time performance feedback in a risk free/simulated environment.
Manager can create role-plays which are automatically scored according to their input/chosen sales methodology. There is no longer a need to run manual role-plays in person or over Zoom. They can even use our reporting tools and watch back recordings to also find their own coaching moments.
We are seeing our early customers:
- Save up to 12 hours of manager time a week on setting up and scoring role-play trainings
- Reduce ramp times for new hires by 4 weeks by getting reps on the phones faster
- Re-enforce sales trainings leading to improved win rates, more consistency & better call readiness

Patrick is a friend from YC and launched one of my favorite apps - Monaru (helped you be more thoughtful with your relationships). It didn't work out, but I was so impressed with Patrick's creativity and curiosity. When I heard he'd started a new company with his friend Mark (they worked together at Intercom), I was intrigued. The two have a powerful combination of product-building and deep sales leadership experience. Plus their Office-themed demo is plain fun :)
