A HUUUUUGE thanks for dropping by our page πŸ™! We're beyond excited to launch Socyal Today, and to you to our vision. It's been our labor of love, driven by a simple belief – the transformative magic of feedback. Simple as that. You see, whether you're a seasoned maker (which I believe you are), a first-timer, or someone simply appreciating the innovation around here, there's one thread that connects us all: the power of feedback πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ. It's that little nudge when we're off course, the applause when we've hit the mark, and sometimes, the wake-up call for something truly spectacular. With Socyal, we wanted to champion this idea that feedback shouldn't be buried in chat threads or lost in emails. It should be celebrated, embraced, and easily accessible. After all, feedback is the unsung hero that turns good ideas into amazing products. For everyone launching or even just conceptualizing, remember – every piece of feedback, be it a pat on the back or constructive criticism, is a step closer to your (and your product's) best version. It's the secret sauce of PH, isn't it? 😸 We'd love to hear your thoughts on Socyal and your own experiences with feedback. Thank you all for every piece of advice so far, every suggestion, and every word that pushes us forward πŸ™. Keep rocking and rolling, and remember to sprinkle some of that feedback magic wherever you go!
@sebastian_maraloiu Thank you πŸ™

@vlad_burca, congratulations on the launch! It’s a great idea to create a project that will allow you to receive and analyze feedback. For products that are just starting out, it is very important to understand how users feel and what they would like to change and add. And as you said, any feedback is important. Volodymyr from True Nation!
Thank you so much for the kind words and support @volodymyr_vedmediev and True Nation team! πŸ’¬ You're absolutely right; understanding user sentiments is paramount, especially in the early stages. This seems like a cool idea, also I know in principle from tools like leapsome that there is a rising market demand for this. However, with the democratized assessments, how do you handle potential conflicts or disagreements that might arise? I imagine it can be a challenge to maintain a positive and respectful environment when you put people's pictures in a coordinate system and rank them...
@wintoniak Thanks for this question... it kind of strikes at the heart of Socyal. :) So in addressing potential conflicts and upholding a respectful environment, our approach centers on transparency and open communication. Through internal testing, we've seen biases like conflicts and favoritism surface, often reflecting reviewer leniency or strictness – an insightful perspective in itself. Our aim is to identify and share these issues transparently with both leaders and individuals; not for punitive purposes, but rather to help create better workplace relationships and a supportive working environment. By promoting continuous assessments that allow everyone to provide feedback at any time, we have aimed to provide more insightful trends over time. In which case isolated incidents can become starting points for constructive conversations, while ongoing conflicts can be recognized as genuine concerns that need more attention. Also note Socyal is an evolving project… and we are actually working on improving insights to account for the credibility of reviewers based on various factors, but this is still a work in progress. Feedback from diverse teams and groups, who may consider using Socyal, will really help us learn and improve.
Anthony Latona
πŸ₯³Congrats on the launch! Very useful, even crucial to have this communication and data available for teams. Is there a desktop/web version on the roadmap? What about the possibility of integrating with Slack or MS Teams?
@anthony_latona Hey Anthony, thank you for your comment and for asking these questions. So currently we have a web version only for Workspace User Management, providing more robust capabilities compared to what you can do in the mobile app. A full blown desktop/web version of Socyal is not currently on our immediate roadmap. Having said so, I'd be curious to know what specifically prompted your interest in this possibility. Similarly, as it relates to integrations with platforms like Slack or MS Teams, while these are not currently in our immediate plans, we're open to exploring opportunities that align with user needs. May I ask what specific use cases or needs you have in mind for these integrations? If you find these aspects crucial or have a specific use case in mind, we'd be more than happy to discuss it further and explore potential solutions. Insights such as yours can definitely inform our decisions and roadmap.
Anthony Latona
@earl_c In my experience, platform adoption was challenging with a decent sized team (~100 or so). One example was a recognition system which launched with reasonable initial success but within a few weeks, it was barely noticed. This was integrated into MS Teams to reduce distraction and remove having to sign into another system (it used Office SSO). Even with those reductions in user friction, it still was a challenge for HR to get people to use the platform regularly. With the app only being on mobile, I'm not sure how much people would use it after the initial fanfare of implementing it. However, take that with a grain of salt since I'm coming from an entirely anecdotal place of seeing this one time; it's different for every company/team/org. From a managerial perspective, I'd want to try and reduce distraction and overhead from everyone's day-to-day workload. This comes from 15 years in an agency where every second counted as it was all project based and usually hourly work, hence a strong focus on billing clients. In any case, if there was anything ancillary to the required work of the day, we'd want to make it as easy to use as possible. The chosen platform's MS Teams integration allowed the users to interact entirely from an app they already had and used all day. All the user provisioning and management was done centrally, and that made deployment rather easy. If it's not directly integrated with the chat app, then desktop would be preferred since everyone's in their browser most of the day anyway. On the other hand, having to use your phone can be distracting in countless ways... you go to check this one work related app update but get sucked into social media or whatever, and that could derail an important task. Nothing definitive here... just what came to mind which reminded me of a couple previously tough attempts to get the company using similar type systems. I still think it looks great and if there's a good way to make it stick with the team, it would be excellent. What's the ballpark cost per user?
@anthony_latona First off, thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed insights and personal experiences πŸ™. We genuinely value feedback like this. It's this kind of dialogue that helps us adapt and refine Socyal. πŸ’‘πŸ’‘πŸ’‘ I completely understand the concerns about adoption, especially with a large team. Launch enthusiasm versus long-term engagement is indeed a challenge many platforms face. Your anecdote about the recognition system is an all-too-common scenario, and it’s something we’ve been mindful of from the get-go. The decision to go mobile-only with Socyal is rooted in the belief that feedback and recognition are personal and ongoing processes. We wanted to create a tool that could be easily accessible, even when one is away from their desk, during commutes, breaks, or any reflective moment. We haven't totally excluded a desktop/web version yet, we wanted to focus on the person first rather than just the 'employee'. However, I absolutely resonate with your point about potential distractions. Well... It's a delicate balance to strike - ensuring accessibility without becoming another pull away from productivity. The goal with Socyal is to be an enriching part of an individual’s day, and NOT a detour. Your perspective from the agency side is suuuuuuuper valuable and insightful for us, and it's got me thinking about how we can further streamline the experience. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Our journey with Socyal is one of evolution, and conversations like this are the waypoints that guide us. 🀘🀘🀘
@anthony_latona What's the ballpark cost per user? To address this question. Our commitment is to provide a solid footing for early adopters. That's why, for the foreseeable future, Socyal is entirely FREE. We're planning and working on monetizing AI features and other activities aimed for big teams and enterprises. However, rest assured, feedback and recognition, the core of our platform, will always remain at no cost. For larger enterprises with unique needs, we're here to tailor solutions, and we have some solutions already in place. Feel free to reach out to us, and let's explore how Socyal can best serve your needs.
@anthony_latona Thanks very much for sharing your experience, Anthony. I will have to concede that getting any performance management tool to stick can be very challenging. This has been my experience in the companies I have worked at. With Socyal, one of the ways we attempted to address this reluctance, or in many cases just a simple lack or loss of interest, was by flipping the concept around and making it about YOU as an individual while within the context of your organization. So on our roadmap are capabilities that will allow you to use Socyal to validate your experience externally because the Socyal data comes from verified people you have worked with in an org. One such capability we have today is the ability to share your recognitions you receive in Socyal directly to your social media and professional networking platforms (it's yours). So unlike, for example, LinkedIn, where anyone could give you a recommendation and the only proof that you know is each other is because you both said so, with Socyal, because you are verified as coworkers in a Socyal workspace, a Socyal recognition holds much more veracity. To your point about switching from tools already being used in a workplace (like Teams) to a mobile, with its associated distractions, yes you make a fair point indeed. We have discussed integrating with such platforms (Teams, Slack, etc.) but as a small team running lean, our priorities are always in flux, so we haven't got it this yet. Anthony, this has been an enlightening and productive conversation, so if you are up to it, I would love to continue it here or elsewhere. Either way, thanks so much for taking the time so write and share your personal experience.

Socyal is indeed a forward-looking solution for addressing the complex challenges of modern workplaces and workforce performance management. The way they've articulated the pressing need for a more holistic and equitable approach to performance management in today's globally dispersed and digitally connected work environments is spot-on.

Launching soon!
Congratulations on the launch of Socyal @vlad_burca + @earl_c !!! Socyal seems poised to change (for the better) performance management in modern workplaces. I'm interested in the emphasis on democratized assessments and data-driven insights (although I fear it may be a little over my head). Can you share more about how Socyal's AI-powered insights help organizations navigate challenges like misalignment of priorities and optimizing remote work effectively? and if you can - what that workflow looks like?
Iulian Nita
@dzaitzow Thank you for your support and inquiring feedback, Daniel! Let me take a stab at answering your questions. Socyal's AI-powered insights aim to help organizations identify patterns and trends in feedback and collaboration. Think of it as a friendly assistant that helps spotlight areas where teams might be feeling challenges, even if they aren't voiced out loud. Sometimes teams might be working hard, but not necessarily in the same direction giving birth to the so-called misalignment of priorities. Socyal intervenes by identifying potential discrepancies in team objectives or perceptions. For instance, if multiple team members highlight concerns or feedback about a certain project's direction, Socyal can flag it for managerial review. As for remote work, while it offering flexibility, sometimes it also brings the challenge of feeling "out of the loop". Socyal can help identify if certain team members might be feeling isolated based on the feedback they're receiving, or perhaps not receiving. By providing these insights, managers can proactively reach out, ensuring everyone feels connected and valued. As for the workflow, it's pretty straightforward! As users interact, give feedback, and collaborate on Socyal, our AI quietly analyzes this data in the background. When it identifies potential areas of interest, it gently nudges them to the forefront for managerial or personal review. It's all about ensuring that no important feedback or trend goes unnoticed! AI is still a young field with a lot of room to grow and we are constantly working on understanding how to use it and grow along with it in order to make Socyal even more intuitive and helpful for our users. We're super excited about the foundation we've built, but we've got plenty more in store for this feature! Hope I was able to clarify things for you. Thanks again for your feedback!

@ayesha_awan1 Thank you! 🀟
@ayesha_awan1 Thanks for your comment. Indeed, Socyal is all about leveling the playing field and making opportunities for development and growth accessible to everyone, everywhere.
Anjali N
Excited to witness the effects firsthand. πŸ‘ How does Socyal make sure that distant teams are included and involved in PM?
@anjaliinambiar Hello Anjali. Thank you for highlighting the importance of this aspect in effective Performance Management. Involving remote teams in the PM process should be more than just a strategic choice; it's a commitment to recognizing and valuing the unique strengths and contributions of every team, no matter where they are located. And in general, involving all teams in the Performance Management (PM) process is essential for gaining buy-in from employees. We’ve attempted to help orgs achieve this by enabling tailored "activities" to be set up. So for example, teams can define their own activities with performance metrics, skills, abilities, and behaviors pertinent to their specific needs. This flexibility enables teams to assess each other based on what's important to them, be it soft or hard skills. Additionally, organizations can implement 'top-down' activities designed for assessing contributions to organizational initiatives. This ensures alignment with the broader company goals. By combining these activities, organizations gain a well-rounded view of both individual employees and teams. This approach not only fosters inclusivity but also provides a comprehensive understanding of how everyone contributes to the organization's success. Does that answer your question? It'd be great to hear about your experience in this regard too.
Artyom Sviridov
Awesome, congratulations on the launch! Socyal, being a performance management tool, resonates with me personally. Keep up the great work and bring even more great stuff for both workforce and personal growth.

Now, this sounds interesting. Managing a team can be tricky, and it's about time we had tools that really get that. I like how you're focusing on relationships and trying to cut through the usual biases. Can't wait to try it out and see if it vibes with our team at Videobolt. Keep it up, and thanks for sharing!
@mocarg OMG yes! Managing a team, especially remote / hybrid, can be quite the challenge, and we've tried to make it easier. It's genuinely encouraging to hear that you like our focus on relationships and our efforts to address biases. We can't wait for you to try Socyal out at Videobolt and see how it vibes with your team. Your feedback will be incredibly valuable in helping us improve. πŸ™
Naoto Shibata
I love it! Congratulations on your launch! I'm interested in the feature of relative ranking. Is is calculated with the data from some source of communication tool like slack?
Hey there, @naoto_shibata_morph ! Thanks for reaching out! 😊 Relative ranking in Socyal isn't directly tied to communication tools like Slack. Instead, it's more about gathering insights directly on Socyal through a democratic system, where collaborators rank their peers. This method allows for a more authentic and immediate reflection of team dynamics. That said, we're always on the lookout for ways to make Socyal even better, including potential integrations with popular tools. Your feedback is truly valuable in that journey! πŸ™ Hope that clarifies things! Is there a specific thing you need or have in mind? πŸ€”
Maestro
