@ivarjain I wouldn't call it the most 'advanced', especially because it is actually quite a neat, simple app, and 'advanced' makes it sound more complicated to use than it really is. (Also 'because it is topping the charts worldwide' is no reason for calling it 'the world's most advanced'.)

@ivarjain And I would describe it as a 'data usage tracker' instead of a 'data tracker', bit clearer in my opinion :)

Is this bettet than Tripmode? www.tripmode.ch/ there, you can not only track data usage, but actually decide which apps you want to be able to access the Internet whilst on a hotspot or tether.

Here's what you can do: • Track Wi-Fi usage by each hotspot. • Track app wise usage on your Mac. • Get daily Wi-Fi usage in your taskbar.

Tried it, very neat solution for my Macbook. I work while travelling and data is at premium.

@ankeshs should agree. I use 3G hotspots on my Mac most of the time and this should help me monitor my usage.

The OS X application seems to work real nicely. However, since I share my cell phone data plan with two other people, it seems that the iOS app will not work for me. Will a feature be added in the future which allows my family to download the app onto their phones so that their data usage on my plan is also tracked?

I hate tethering my phone to my MacBook cause I never know how much data chrome will eat up. This finally allows me keep an eye out. Highly recommended

Really good idea, but virtually unreadable when using dark menu bar. Still, I like it. it's a keeper.

Looks cool. Had recently got a MacBook and had been wanting a data usage tracking system. This is such a good one.

Neat! Although, I wish it did have the option to hide the icon next to the data counter, I have a pet peeve with duplicated symbols in my menu bar (and now I have two similar wi-fi icons :))).
