Hello Product Hunt! Today we're super excited to launch Similar! Thanks to Steve Egle Thanh & Terry for the incredible teamwork to get us to a PH launch. Similar is an AI powered Chrome Extension that has the ability to make any page on the internet shoppable. From product search to price comparison, Similar literally has access to every single item on the web (more than Amazon and eBay combined) and compares them ALL in real-time as you browse. We source coupon codes for every retailer possible and you can wishlist any item with one click, making it an all-in-one shopping assistant. We started building Similar because we were frustrated that other Chrome extensions only found coupon codes for one website, rather than giving visibility on where else we could get that item and the prices and deals available elsewhere. We found ourselves wasting time searching Google and Amazon to compare prices and then have to compare deals too. We knew we could make it work automatically and in real-time. So we spent the past year organizing every shopping destination online, managing product data in a common format, and building Similar - a Chrome Extension that understands your context and shows you relevant information with the click of a button. Steps to use Similar: 1) Using the Chrome desktop browser head to similarinc.com 2) Click on the Add To Chrome button at the top and you will be taken to the Chrome Webstore 3) Install Similar to Chrome 4) Click on the puzzle icon in the browser bar to 'pin' Similar for easy access to wishlists and product search 5) Browse for items like Amazon.com or watch a product review on YouTube.com 6) Look out for the Similar Inc icon spinning on the right-hand side of your screen to get deals! Wishlisting requires an account, but everything else works without setting up an account. Wishlists are shareable with recipients receiving a web URL, they don't need to have Similar installed. You can collaborate on wishlists, where they do need to have Similar installed. In the future, you will even be able to earn a commission when your friends and followers buy things they see in your wishlists! Honey just gives you a deal for the site you're currently browsing, it doesn't show you where else you can buy that item, the prices elsewhere, nor the deals those other retailers have. Similar puts all that information in one click. It also let's you build wishlists and makes Youtube Reviews and other previously unshoppable places around the web automatically shoppable. In the near future people will be able to monetize items bought from their wishlists too!

Used it to buy a heater (it's winter here in Sydney) super easy to compare prices on similar items + get cost of delivery or how far the store is from me. It's an awesome extension. Saved $100. Recommend 10/10

This is a great idea @krzysztof_guz thanks!! We would love to do it, not just for the item (and retailer) wishlisted but for the price of that item across every retailer that sells it - so you always have the actual best price available anywhere. Watch this space 😊

@jameswstaylor I think firstly the UX is amazing and super simple to use. Price alerts would be awesome, as well as some pricing analysis that highlights pricing fluctuation throughout the year. This way, Similar could show me that not only is this the cheapest deal right now, but it’s likely to be the cheapest deal throughout the year too. For big ticket items this would be super helpful! Longer term, making Similar accessible to mobile and going beyond an extension would be amazing!! Not sure how easy that is to engineer though so I’ll leave that to the Similar team😅

Thanks @sumoz - We believe the next great marketplace will be without its own website, distributed around the web in context to people's behavior (on eCommerce sites; on social; in-stream media; contextual content; augmented reality, etc). We also think the shopping experience should aggregate every possible option, ranked by relevancy and price. So that’s what we are building here.
