Hey Hunters! We're super excited to be launching Sahha on Product Hunt and share what we've been building. A huge shout out to our team, investors, fellow founders, friends and family and everyone else who has supported us along the way to get here. What is Sahha? It's an API that uses smartphone sensor data to predict user mental health (based on clinical assessments such as the PHQ9). How does it work? - Integrated into new/existing mobile apps with an SDK/API that connects to Apple HealthKit and Google sensor APIs to collect data such as sleep, steps or phone locks. - It then analyzes that data using ML to create a prediction on a users mental wellbeing. - The resulting analysis can then be used to trigger interventions, referrals to care or be used to empower existing datasets. Interesting? Scary? What about my privacy? - Secure: no PII is shared and each prediction is encrypted. - Private: native Google and Apple permissions let the user control access to data - passive: data is collected in the background and predictions happen automatically. - objective: Sahha doesn't require a mental health survey to be taken by the user. And soon we’ll be adding: - treatment / intervention recommendations - predictions on anxiety, stress and burnout We built Sahha because we believe that the more we know about ourselves, the more equipped we will be to improve our mental health. If we had the power to understand how our behavior and our mental health were connected, what solutions could we build to improve our health? Our launch coincides with national suicide prevention week (US), please visit https://afsp.org/ for more info. Have fun building with Sahha! We're looking forward to seeing what solutions get built using this powerful technology!

As one of the mobile developers, I’m very happy with how far we’ve come, I believe in what we’re making and that it could greatly improve how we build health care tech. A great milestone for what we’ve been working on for over a year, and have learned so much from our awesome team!
Aleks Dahlberg
@hcha219 Thanks Min! There from the start!
Maxwell Matson

As a long time by-stander when it comes to the constant development and growth of software engineering I have to admit the product that the team at Sahha have created is something that has caught my eye. The concept of SDK and API has been around for a while but to integrate it into the current medical field is revolutionary. Mental health amongst our current generation is something of importance to me as I am a single father of 3 - I am aware of the current societal pressures and the negative impact it has on our mental state. I strongly believe that the addition of Sahha to the current medical software can bring not only effective and accurate data for diagnosis, but also streamline the process of which it is carried out across the globe. Congratulation once again to the team at Sahha for developing a software which I believe will become the pillars of a healthier life moving foward for years to come.

@chur_taka Thanks Steven! This is super awesome, thanks for sharing and thanks for the support you've shown here, it really means a lot.

I’ve been helping to build Sahha for the last year. We are on a mission to change the way mental health is recognized… quite literally. Using only your phone, we can predict your mental well-being every 24 hours based on your daily activities such as sleeping, walking, reading, and talking. Our goal is to catch depression and anxiety before it catches you. So excited to launch this!
Aleks Dahlberg
@matthewlaird thanks for all your work supporting the devs on multiple fronts!
David Pipe
This is the culmination of a lot of serious work, super excited to launch here. There's a lot of exciting progress happening in this space that will have a huge impact on peoples lives, thankful to be a part of it.
Aleks Dahlberg
@david_pipe thanks for hanging around for number 3, 4?
Hunter Carter
What steps are you taking to make sure this is used ethically?
Aleks Dahlberg
@school_4_ants Hi Hunter! It's early, but we're doing our best from a legal standpoint, outside of that we're looking at ways we can validate how the technology is being used on the customers end. While it's possible we won't be able to capture every bad actor and block them, we'll be putting in place a series of verifications and validation steps before someone can use the production API in their product.
Hunter Carter
@aleksdahlberg That's great. Would also be great to see ethical concerns and disallowed use cases explicitly addressed in the TOS.

"We built Sahha because we believe that the more we know about ourselves, the more equipped we will be to improve our mental health" Could not agree more on that one. It's fantastic to see solutions that are not ambulances at the bottom of the cliff, Great job Sahha!
Aleks Dahlberg
@thibault_vandermosten thanks man you've always been a champion!
Edmund Barker
Sahha could genuinely save preventable deaths, so I'm a passionate advocate and supporter. Sahha should be a part of our daily lives and kick us out of a funk before a funk spirals into depression and anxiety. LOVE YOUR WORK TEAM!

Siddhartha Vinchurkar
Having spent time with and seen Aleks co-build this with his team, I am looking forward to the product with great anticipation. As a male, it's at times hard to express myself and ignore the mental health. An app like Sahha would be an answer to monitoring that! My best wishes for the team and the product. And they are absolutely correct in saying that "the more we know about ourselves, the more equipped we will be to improve our mental health."
Aleks Dahlberg
@siddhartha_vinchurkar Thanks Sid for your continued support for Sahha and the team! You're the man!
