Today's a big day for me - I'm introducing you to my latest project, Roast My Web. It's a project aimed at indie hackers, software engineers, web designers, and honestly, anyone who's ever poured their heart into creating a website. I'm beyond excited to share it with you all on Product Hunt! 🎉
Here's the backstory: Not long ago, I was grinding away on a project, riding the emotional rollercoaster that is web development. Some days I felt invincible, but on others, I was swamped with everything from UX headaches to copywriting and conversion dilemmas. It got to the point where I seriously considered getting outside help to critique my landing page, but all the services I found were way out of my budget and took ages to deliver.
That's when GPT Vision came along and sparked an idea. Why not build something that's both affordable and quick? A tool that helps people like us, who are too close to our own work to spot the little (yet crucial) things?
And so, Roast My Web was born. It's an AI-driven, friendly sidekick that critiques your website. Just drop in your URL, and it'll take care of the rest, from capturing site images to offering insights. I packed it with features I wished I had during my late-night coding sessions. More than anything, I hope it helps you as much as I needed something like this. Here's to making our web journeys a bit smoother! 🚀🌐🖥️

@sentry_co, the sample roast is designed to provide a sample report, not on just any website, but on a specific example one. It's made so people can understand what they are actually going to get! I've tweaked the sample reports a bit; I think it is clearer now!
@jera_value I think You should have at least 1 free try. Right now it's too "gated" to get traction. The customer doesn't know what it's getting. I have tried a few of these analyse my website with AI services. And they have not lived up to the marketing at all. Now your might be true gold. But as a customer I need to know first. Samples could be biased etc. AS they say, proof is in the pudding 😏
@sentry_co I was just answering the same in another comment! 😅 Some people have told me the same, but it's really hard to maintain a free version of the product without breaking the bank. The scraping and AI costs fall entirely on me. I offer some free reports so people can fully understand what they're getting into, but I doubt I can maintain a free version unless the product becomes a huge success. Anyway, I love to hear you out guys, thanks for the feedback!
@jera_value I think M$ has free OpenAI credits for startups. What I heard is that it's pretty generous as well. Enough to get you to PMF at least. Worth checking out. Or what you can do is. Redact lots of useful tidbits. Just show 10% of the analysis. That would reduce at least 90% of the cost

Not just ranking performance, not just SEO, not just design, but everything! Once achieved, it could also become a handy tool for comparing your website with competitors based on various factors. This might still be a bit far off, but that's the vision!
