This is targeted to professionals but could be fun to use with family or friends to collaboratively make videos.
Fun fact: I have 50+ hours of footage from middle school through college. I used to film everything. cc @scottalln
@rrhoover - we have an interesting "sync" feature that allows multiple viewers (family and friends) to sync to each other while watching the same videos. No more need to hop on a call and count down 3, 2, 1 press play. :)
My company produces 50+ original videos a month. We employ an 8 person production team full time using Premiere for post and Asana for production management.
This is a really interesting product. Drop me a line - guy [at] joyus [dot] com
@thomasknoll thanks for the soft questions. :p
We built Remark because we were tired of watching videos alone. It just so happened that professional creatives had the same problem and hence the technology seeking a market became a product solving a real problem.
Rebranding was relatively painless. There's still some articles/blog posts out there that say First Cut Pro but since we did the permanent redirect, Google search gives Remarkhq.com the credit of the seo we got with our old domain.
The only thing I'd say to fellow entrepreneurs about brand changes is - don't do it until you've heard numerous CUSTOMERS say it sucks. Don't listen to investors about your name sucking. :p
@guygal - after probably 10 or so pricing and plan changes, this setup was the easiest to understand and defend as it relates to saving time/adding much more value than what we charge per user. The typical $30/user plan easily saves an hour worth of a producer or editors' time throughout a month (typically can be achieved in just one review session alone) but you get unlimited projects and videos for the month.
Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Also, because we don't host the videos, we aren't pegged to a storage or viewing time pricing structure that ends up commoditizing your offering. (Competitors end up having these types of plans)
Shoot me an email directly at taylor at remarkhq.com to discuss more!
Holy crap. I've been looking for something like this for months to help with making videos more accessible for The Commonwealth Club members. Looking forward to kicking the tires.
