Hi Hunters! ๐Ÿ‘‹ First of all, Iโ€™m thrilled that the waitlist is over for Reforge Artifacts. You can use it for free. We spend too much time on work that reinvents the wheel. The less time we spend on that, the more time we can spend building new and unique things. Introducing Reforge Artifacts - real work from leading operators who have done the work. You can do a few things with Artifacts: 1. Find ready-to-use resources that are directly applicable to your work. 2. Gain valuable insights from experts who share the story, lessons, and nuances behind each artifact. 3. Save and collaborate on artifacts with my colleagues, accelerating our work together. 4. Customize and remix artifacts to suit my specific needs, saving time and effort. Here are some of my favorites: โ€จ Growth team strategy & vision at Patreon by Adam Fishman https://www.reforge.com/artifact... Brand Positioning Doc from Vimeo by Zoe Black https://www.reforge.com/artifact... Product Spec for Notifications Experiment at Duolingo by Jackson Shuttleworth https://www.reforge.com/artifact... Vision Roadmap at Coursera by Tom Willerer https://www.reforge.com/artifact... Growth Process Map at Snyk by Ben Williams https://www.reforge.com/artifact... The idea for Artifacts was inspired by personal behavior. I had other founders and growth leaders constantly reaching out to me for example experiments, strategy docs, job descriptions, you name it. When I shared the real thing vs some blank template, I could see the light bulb go off in others' heads. Since starting this project, Iโ€™ve leveraged a bunch of Artifacts from others and integrated them into Reforge. I hope it is helpful for others! You can sign up now on the Reforge website for free.

@bbalfour This is cool. Right when first time founders like me are looking for a structured approach to a lot of aspects of product lifecycle. Congrats on the launch! I would love to jump right into some of them.

@neelptl2602 Great to hear. I have a few of my own personal Artifacts on there for founders and a few more coming: https://www.reforge.com/profiles... This simply needs to exist. And the execution so far by the Reforge team is fantastic! Developers have GitHub, designers have Dribbble, but that leaves everyone else with no real platform to share their work. Artifacts allows the rest of us focused on product, growth, marketing and more to have a place to find and share our work product in the form of favorite tactics, frameworks, resources, etc. Really looking forward to seeing Artifacts grow and become an indispensable network.
Dan Wolchonok
@hnshah Thank you Hiten for hunting us and your support. It means a lot. Looking forward to an artifact about Nira in the future!
Yura Turivny
Awesome work, ReforgeTeam! ๐Ÿš€ Exciting to finally have a platform for non-devs to showcase their expertise. How do you plan to enhance user engagement? Keep the momentum going!
Julien Ergan
Congratulations for the launch! The nature of the content (artifacts) is impressive. Obviously you can't reveal it, but I'm struggling to guess how you could convince people/companies to share some of their internal processes or templates with the details.
Brian Balfour
@julienergan It's not that hard. The majority of things we create in companies are not trade secrets. Any sensitive information is always scrubbed beforehand. The benefits of sharing what you've done and how you've done it massively outweigh any costs. It's basically a different form of a blog post or conference presentation.
Julien Ergan
@bbalfour, thanks for your answer. I now have a better understanding of the loss-benefit ratio for a company. The way you articulated it, I can see the benefits for companies. I'm wondering, since it's a new way of sharing/promoting content, was convincing the first people/contacts to share content with you the most challenging part?
Brian Balfour
@julienergan Certainly and it will require continual work. Some people don't know this but TikTok spent many millions bootstrapping their initial creators. Most products like this need to provide a lot of activation energy to get the whole thing going. We started with our closest network and are continually working our way out.
Julien Ergan
@bbalfour thatโ€™s so interesting. Had no idea about TikTok, thanks for sharing that example. I canโ€™t imagine how much energy (on a personal level) this initial phase requires. Hats off only for that. I feel that your artifacts library will be particularly valuable to the rest of the world outside Silicon Valley.
Morgan Brown
Knowing what good looks like is a cheat code for anyone trying to create these artifacts in their company. So impressed by the willingness to share across these and props to Reforge for bringing this level of visibility to these best practices across critical docs for company success.
Brian Balfour
@morganb "Knowing what good looks like is a cheat code " Might be a new headline for us.
Rami
so it's like a collection of projects that "experts" have completed and you can use as a reference? This is a great idea for those building physical products because there are so many potentials "gotcha's" that one can run into and learning from a previous maker can save hours if not years of wasted effort. Great idea!
Brian Balfour
@kingromstar Yeah. I like to think about it as open source code but for everything non code. In software engineering you can leverage so much work from others so you can spend your time on the unique parts of your product. Well same goes for marketing, product, etc. So much of what we write and create is reinventing the wheel? Why? It's a waste of time. Hopefully with Artifacts we make an impact on that.
Casey Winters
Excited to be able to contribute. I love this concept.

This is really great stuff ๐Ÿ‘ I look forward to spending an hour or two on Sunday's going through the Artifacts recommended by the weekly newsletter. Has the perfect balance b/w interesting & actionable reads - invariably end up sharing these with colleagues at work!
Brian Balfour
@rahul_j_mathur Oh nice! Ben Kornick and @danwolch will love hearing that.
Dan Wolchonok
@rahul_j_mathur Thank you Rahul!
Christophe Pasquier
For having built a whole set of templates over the years, 95% of the time, people think they want templates, when what they really need is exactly this, real life examples, with an inspiration on how to apply it. Brilliant, great move @bbalfour!
Brian Balfour
@christophepas Exactly! So much of my best work has been done because I've had a real life examples to leverage as ingredients. Unfortunately a blank templated doesn't provide that.
Ben Williams
Congrats @bbalfour @danwolch and team on the wider launch!! Artifacts is a game changer for operators in product growth, marketing and engineering. Such a comprehensive library of work to learn from, take inspiration from, and accelerate your own initiatives. Proud to have shared a bunch of artifacts on the platform and hope they prove useful to folks! https://www.reforge.com/profiles...
Dan Wolchonok
@bbalfour @plgeek Thank you Ben for being an early creator with us. These are two of my all time favorite artifacts: https://www.reforge.com/artifact... https://www.reforge.com/artifact...
Esus ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ
Congrats on the launch! I swear I saw this launch a few weeks ago, but maybe my mind is playing tricks on me lol. Love the previews, signed up (can't recall if I did for the waitlist lol) and will be reading more! congrats again!
Brian Balfour
@esus We did a private beta launch with a waitlist but just opened it to everyone.
Dan Wolchonok
@esus Thank you Esus! Appreciate the support.
Livio Marcheschi
Amazing tool. There is so many templates and sources of inspiration over there. So much I would appreciate a bit more curation (or help in discovery ;)
Dan Wolchonok
@livmkk Thanks! This is something I'm thinking a lot about. I am hopeful to kick off a private beta of a new feature to do something like this in the coming months. Send me an email (first name at reforge) and I can add you to it if you're interested.
Adam Green
Thanks for the feedback @livmkk and we hear you! There's a lot on our roadmap to help make the rapidly growing collection of artifacts easier to use and to browse. One of those "good" problems for our team now that there are so many!
Shelly Eisen Livneh
Yes!! I can now use this in my new team member's onboarding plan and training!
Brian Balfour
@wabisabi575 Thank you for all your awesome contributions!
Dan Wolchonok
@wabisabi575 Thank you Shelly! This is my favorite artifact of yours: https://www.reforge.com/artifact...
Sumant Subrahmanya
When I started out in Product Management, I used a lot of frameworks without understanding the context behind them. This led to force-fitting frameworks more than getting the job done. Artifacts show you how work gets done by operators in Orgs big and small and for different contexts. My aha moment was when I saw a (real)Onboarding experiment from Ngrock with comments from the author on the thought process behind certain parts of the experiment. Honestly, I can't wait to see more operators around the world showing off their work. Congrats on the launch!
Brian Balfour
@ussumant Nice! For those interested, there are a few user onboarding related artifacts: https://www.reforge.com/artifact... "This led to force-fitting frameworks more than getting the job done." Yeah, I get it. I often tell people frameworks are a tool. Like a hammer or saw. But ideally you combine the tool with raw ingredients (wood/nails) and examples of what you are trying to build. I think of Artifacts like the real nitty gritty examples. Not the instagramified versions of them. You put those together with the frameworks and raw ingredients from your own customer feedback, product, etc and you get the best outcome.
Alena Amano
These artifacts are so incredibly useful - and, in my experience, utterly unique in the realm of professional education. Instead of solely abstract knowledge, you get concrete, real-world examples of principles that you can learn from and build upon. Just a glorious confluence of professional accomplishment and goodwill.
Dan Wolchonok
@alena_amano Thanks Alena. I completely agree - whenever I need to help someone work on something, I immediately think of how I can show them how someone else did something similar on artifacts to give them a different perspective. Real world examples are just so valuable.
Matt Bilotti
Artifacts is such an incredible collection of true work that you'll ever find. It helps you get past the "ideas" of how to approach something and actually see how it's been done. Already been a huge asset!
Hikaru Nagashima
I really like this UI. Lately, there are too many that are overly simple.
Dan Wolchonok
@hikaru_nagashima Thank you Hikaru!
Starting from scratch is something that I often really struggle with, so I'm very excited to try these out!
Brian Balfour
@jack__lancaster Just having something to mimic as a starting point can be a huge accelerator. I hope Artifacts helps.

I've published a dozen artifacts on Reforge and used even more. It's an incredible product that I'm amazed hasn't existed before now. Reforge is the absolute best team to build it and the product is top notch. Congrats @bbalfour @danwolch and team!
Dan Wolchonok
@bbalfour @fishmanaf Thank you Adam. Your artifacts are legendary (you are the most liked author on the platform). Some of my favorite artifacts of yours: https://www.reforge.com/artifact... https://www.reforge.com/artifact... https://www.reforge.com/artifact...
Kunal Bhatia
The Mercury team has been using Reforge for a while + we got set up with Artifacts back in July. Love this new direction to help with the tactical pieces of product work. Reforge has been great for my career. I've taken 3 cohort-based classes (Growth Series, Advanced Growth, and Product Leadership) and still use their frameworks every day. I can't recommend them enough to all disciplines โ€“ product, design, eng, data science, marketing, and more. Now it's even more accessible to get started with a tactical problem you have. Congrats on the launch @bbalfour + @danwolch!
Brian Balfour
@danwolch @kunalslab ๐Ÿ™Œ That's amazing to hear. Thank you!
Kudos to Reforge for providing a valuable resource for professionals across various fields!
Dan Wolchonok
@dilancelik Thanks Dilan, I hope we can expand to even more fields and roles as we ramp up the number of artifacts over time.
