@benln - thanks for the post! We built this streaming guide because we were tired of flipping between our Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, HBO and Amazon Prime subscriptions. We wanted a one-stop shop where we could browse all movies and TV shows we had through our subscriptions, see their Rotten Tomatoes scores, and not be suggested content we’d already seen. It’s available at reelgood.io and on AppleTV. Built by the (former) Popcorn time team and designed by @elife_is

Nice! This is like Yahoo Video Guide https://www.producthunt.com/post..., but will hopefully continue to be updated and improved!

@tombornal Indeed it is! We thought we could improve the experience by being native to the platforms people watch on (i.e. being on your laptop or AppleTV.) That way you don't have to bust out your phone to find something to watch. And yes to improvements! We're working on a personalized/customized home screen that should help surface exactly shows you watch and movies you'll be interested in across all your sources. We want to be the place you go to every night to get after the content you love. Let us know if there are any things you'd like to see on that sort of platform.

@elife_is @tombornal so is this available on Apple TV as an app?
Eli Chamberlin
@arlogilbert You bet! Just search Reelgood in the app store
Jeremy Gollehon
Super simple. Super powerful. I love it!
David Sanderson
@gollyjer Thanks! Glad you like it

Facebook not quite set up yet: "App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions."
Sunil Pithwa
@boetter saw the same thing.
Luigi Poole
@boetter Thanks for the heads up, the issue has been fixed.
Nelson Joyce
Been using this app for a long time. Absolutely love it!
David Sanderson
@nelsonjoyce Awesome! Glad to hear it!

A burning desire I have that I would love for you guys to tackle, and it could also be a great way to get new users: A searchable database of Movies/TV shows that tells me where I can stream it from online. E.g. I heard about "Mr. Robot" and want to watch it, but have no idea where. Canistream.it seems to either be dead or horribly buggy. Please solve this. You'll make me, and my father, very happy.
David Sanderson
@taykcrane Coming very soon ;) Backend is there to support this, connecting it to the front-end shortly
Kenal Shah
@taykcrane Try Yahoo Guide...does exactly what you asked. Saw Reelgood come up in today's product hunt daily so will give that a try too.

I love this app. We used it on Sunday Night to find a movie. Usually, I know what I want to see, but I subscribe to about five sources. This time, I found the "discover" design delightful.
Sunil Pithwa
@davidsanderson1 facebook login states it's still in development mode. Is the beta open yet?
Luigi Poole
@suniluxd @davidsanderson1 A small deploy hiccup on our end! All fixed now. :)
Mike Orren
SO needed. Also getting the FB App error others reporting.

With the release of the TV app imminent, what are your plans for the future? Been using the TV app since it showed up in the betas and the experience seems almost interchangeable with Reelgood.
Eli Chamberlin
@goldenchaos Hey Jason! Great question since that's something we are acutely aware at Reelgood, as you might imagine. Having Apple enter the space with such a market defining product helps us demonstrate the problem, as well as the solution. As far as being on AppleTV, we love the platform and the ease with which we're able to develop for it, but we are chasing the platforms where people are watching. This is why we are focusing on the browser experience, which is where the majority of people are accessing their content.
Michael Jordan
Awesome app! Was looking for something like this a few weeks ago.
Brian J King
How do I add Showtime after I've already signed in?
Eli Chamberlin
@brianjking Hi Brian! You can edit your sources at any time from the tv or movie browsing pages by clicking on the source icons at the top right of the screen (where it says "content from".) We've noticed that discoverability on this setting isn't as good as we would like it to be and are working on some UI tweaks that should solve that soon!
Paul Prins
Wondering how you handle the regional rights for services like Netflix. Are you only targeting the US, or will it correctly show programing for other countries?
David Sanderson
@paulprins Only US for now. Will be expanding to other regions over the next year. We're eager to do it, just need to get there in our roadmap.
Gary Meyer
Gorgeous app, nice work! I would love to see the addition of places I can pay a few bucks to rent or buy it online, specifically with Google Play and Amazon.
Ben Mehling
Wow. As the other aggregated search tools have died, I've been waiting for something like this. Thank you! Please consider adding support for AndroidTV.
John Ford
Looks like such a great product. Any plans to support UK-based streaming platforms?
John Ford
Scrap that. Just spotted your roll-out comment above. Will be eagerly tracking :)

TV fans have a HUGE discoverability problem, which Reelgood partially solves. The big challenge for viewers is figuring out where to watch recent episodes and when they'll be available. Most people don't realize, for instance, that a recent episode of an ABC show might be available on Hulu while a CW series is on the CW web site. It's a bit confusing and when you add in all the possible viewing sources, it's a mess. I think it's a solvable problem, but it will require adding some additional sources along with some expanded explanations on the search results pages. Still, it's useful as is, and I am interested in seeing how it improves in the future.
