I finished reading the comments and accidentally pressed Command+Q instead of Command+W to close the tab. Looks like I need it more than I thought... Installing now!

After using this for awhile (an hour-ish) it would be fantastic to have the option to add only specific apps instead of having to exclude all the apps excluding Chrome which is the only app I have an issue with quitting accidently. =)

@billhamway That's definitely on the list! Keep an eye out for an update 😄

Hey Hunters! This was a little project I've been working on over the last week. It was inspired by Chrome's "Warn When Quitting" option which I sorely missed when switching to Safari. You can use QBlocker to protect you from quitting any app or set exclusion rules to ignore things like Tweetbot or Messages that won't be missed if they do quit. Happy blockin' 🚫

I was literally cursing myself and my computer yesterday when I was in a rush and accidentally quit when trying to Command+A. Very timely. Thanks for posting!

Would love to see this in action ;)

@bentossell *edit* oops, iframes don't work!

Awesome. was wondering when someone would build this :)

I do this all the time --- great product !

Love this! Should be extra useful for getting used to the new MacBook keyboard.
Stephen Radford
@alexarena How are you finding the new MacBook? I think the keyboard is the only thing that I worry would take some getting used to.
Alex Arena
@steve228uk As evidenced by my need for this app... maybe not so hot 😅In all honesty, it's been quite nice and I'm pretty good with the keyboard, now that it's my primary Mac. Went with the m5 model and unfortunately, it's still slowww.

Cool product. It would be great to be able to whitelist/blacklist apps.
Stephen Radford
@thekitze Thank you 😄 You can blacklist apps via the "Exclude Apps" menu. I'll be adding the ability to reverse this functionality and use it as a whitelist in an upcoming update.
Kitze
@steve228uk Good, thank you!

Just accidentally closed my Google Chrome, again! Downloading QBlocker now.

Is there a configurable delay? I'm currently running Command+Q for this exact same purpose but since I find the delay (even at the lowest minimal setting) to be two long, I only enable it for Chrome.
Stephen Radford
@vallieres Not currently but it's definitely on the list of features I'd like to add! However, if you'd like to have a dabble with it and reduce the delay manually the app is open-source. https://github.com/steve228uk/QB... This line (and a couple of others) are what specify the delay. Reducing the "4" to say "2" should do it 😊

Nice utility. The potential for abuse of power when every key can be logged is a little scary ...errr.. a lot scary.
Stephen Radford
@happygezim Completely agree, which is one of the reasons I open sourced it. IMO Apple need to require all apps that utilise accessibility APIs to be signed. It's also the way things like TextExpander work 😊

I think there is no need to install an app for that. I'm using this method in the image and works great: http://cl.ly/g8m6
Stephen Radford
@einancunlu I'd say that's great if you're comfortable not using the CMD + Q shortcut but for me it's the sole way I quit apps and I didn't want to give it up. Changing it to a hold to quit just makes it safer but I can still utilise the shortcut.
Emin Inanc Unlu
@steve228uk Yes of course this would be an option for the people who don't use the shortcut, I missed that point. : )
