Hey ProductHunt! I'm Vivek, a co-founder of Pragli. Doug and I started working on Pragli in late 2018. Our last company had been acquired, and we were working at the acquiring company remotely. We loved remote work, but we had two major issues with it: loneliness and communication friction. Pragli is our answer to these issues, helping teams build closeness and communicate faster. 🙌 Build a virtual office with adorable live avatars ⚡ Jump into conversations with one-click 💎 Crystal-clear audio, video, screen share 🛠️ Spotify, Calendar, Slack integrations 🔗 Support for guests to join a room from the browser We want to be as generous as possible during COVID-19. We've been free in open beta, but frankly, our bills have been getting substantial. As a result, we have raised a pre-seed round of funding. This will enable us to be free until June 1 and then offer a free tier of pricing indefinitely beyond then. As a gift to the Product Hunt community, save the discount code PH10 to get a 10% discount once we introduce pricing. Try Pragli out with your team, and then let us know what you think. We’re here to receive feedback and answer questions. Best, Vivek

@vivek_nair Congrats on the launch, great work!!
Vivek Nair
@marcelfahle thanks so much Marcel :) We're excited about it for sure
Angad Singh
@vivek_nair congrats on the launch!
Ryan Hoover
Although it might be distracting and off-brand for what you're building, you could consider using Facemoji Kit to allow people to create even more detailed/wild avatars, @vivek_nair. 😄 cc @robinraszka
Doug Safreno
@vivek_nair @robinraszka @rrhoover woah that's a cool project, thanks Ryan! We have a limited facial recognition mode that moves the avatars around and smiles as you do but it's nothing like that. Definitely something for us to take a look at 🧐
Mathieu Guerville
@vivek_nair @robinraszka @rrhoover @doug_safreno I like the low detail more, just enough to know you're there and engaged but not enough to get into uncanny valley
Ramy
Awesome idea - will be interesting to see how popular this becomes These low-detail avatars seem like a great way to indicate that you're around, without having to be on camera all day.
Doug Safreno
@ramykhuffash Thanks Ramy, our users do love their avatars

We use Pragli daily @hihello and find that it's becoming an invaluable tool for remote work. For personal life, my friends and I are hosting a murder mystery party in Pragli to make the most of COVID-19 quarantining; visiting and chatting in different rooms are essential to solving the mystery. Check out Pragli if you haven't already because you'll certainly love it!
Doug Safreno
@hihello @andrewsowers Thanks so much Andrew! Glad you're liking it.
Christiana Yebra
Love this! Congrats team. We are thinking about using to host a virtual dating game! What's the maximum amount of members who join a single channel?
Doug Safreno
@christianayebra Very cool! Right now, up to 15 with video on, more with just audio + avatar. How many are you thinking?
H Joseph Davis
@christianayebra @doug_safreno Define more? I currently use Zoom for our team meetings. They can vary from 15 to 50. Video on is not a huge issue with us. Only a few of the trainers need to be seen.
Doug Safreno
@christianayebra @h_joseph_davis Technically ~100, but we don't currently test above 15, and the client gets a bit laggy at a certain point. I'd treat 50 as an "alpha" use case - go for it, but you're diving into uncharted territory.
Marcel Fahle
We love using it but one showstopper for a few of our guys is the missing iOS app. They'd love to have it run on an iPad. Do you have iOS on the horizon?
Doug Safreno
@marcelfahle Yes! We don't have an exact launch date but it's definitely on the horizon.
Marcel Fahle
@doug_safreno Awesome Doug, thanks!

I came across Pragli a few months ago and I loved the idea. Full disclosure we are building an end to end platform for remote business operations professionals so a virtual office functionality was one of the ideas we seriously looked into. Pragli is a good way of bringing something like that to life.
Niels Mulder
We used Pragli to give our fully remote team a virtual office where we could see each other’s availability and have an easy way to talk with each other. To see that somebody is behind his desk or is currently in a meeting is a useful feature too! Also they are swift in responding and good in communication!
Doug Safreno
@piels Thanks for using us in beta Niels!
Timothy Dwyer
Our startup moved to WFH on March 12th and after a few days of frustration with other services we gave Pragli a shot. It definitely eased our transition, is super easy to use which is always a plus, and we haven't looked back since. Only complaint is that I can't make my avatar look more like Joe Exotic - it's close though.
Doug Safreno
@timothy_dwyer we need to expand our avatar options clearly... 🐯
John Jim
Pragli is a great platform for remote team communication. We started using it yesterday. Cheers and all the best.
Doug Safreno
@john_jim Thanks John!
Jacob Peters
Pragli is an awesome product. Huge kudos to Vivek and team!
Doug Safreno
@j__cub Thanks Jacob!
Océane PUECH
I use Pragli in our teams, it is easy to use for everyone and discreet. Perfect tool for maintaining social link in teams working remotely. Thank you and congrats to the co-founders !
Doug Safreno
@oceane_puech Thanks for using us in beta Océane!
Sharath Prabhal
Congrats on the launch! Love the use of avatars. Personally, I'm not a fan of leaving my camera ON all the time, for both perf and privacy reasons, so the avatars are super helpful. Your blog is great too, especially the uhaul stunt.
Doug Safreno
@sharathprabhal Thanks Sharath! Glad you like it.
Eddy Gann
Congrats guys! The concept is super great, and I'm looking forward to this progressing as it gains steam. As of right now, I think it's lacking in the user experience design aspect. There are some strange interactions like everyone being able to boot people, the sign out button being one of the largest buttons in the UI, and the text chat button being far less prominent than the support chat button. With a good deep dive into some UI and UX design, I think this could be a gold standard for virtual office collaboration. Looking forward to the future! 👍🏻
Doug Safreno
@smseddy 😬more work to be done for sure...
Albert Alvarez
Pragli has helped me and my team to keep the benefits of working with a team in real time the same way or better than when in the office. The tool has not only improved our productivity, but has created greater collaboration synergy between the team members.
Doug Safreno
@albert_alvarez Thanks Albert!!!
Caren Cioffi
We just started using Pragli and love it already! It's going to make building a company in this global time of remote work that much more successful and also delightful.
Doug Safreno
@caren_cioffi Thanks for trying out Pragli! Glad you like it 😊
Josh Constine
One of the smartest social products I’ve seen lately. The team put tons of care into recreating offline signals to cue when not to interrupt someone. Would love to see a strong integration with Asana or other task managers so you could show what task you’re working on. Collaborative screensharing where everyone has a cursor like with Screen would be good. Calendar optimization or ways to find the next time a few people are simultaneously free would be great.
Doug Safreno
@joshconstine Thanks Josh! Those are great ideas.
Heiko Vogelgesang
Using this since October last year and it's really a great tool for more productivity in a remote team. In the last month there was some problem with the CPU load after some time, but it's getting better with each release.
Doug Safreno
@webpassionist We're definitely iterating. Thanks for using us through beta!
Jose Sanchez
Excelente Producto, reune grandes funcionalidades. Tiene un gran potencial. Necesitamso la app Movil
Doug Safreno
@jose_sanchez4 Yup, mobile app is on the list
Catherine Straus
This looks really cool and I love the avatars! When is the mobile app version coming out?
Vivek Nair
@catherine_straus thanks so much!! the next few big features that we intend to support are (1) larger organization support and (2) mobile. So we'll hopefully have a mobile version out pretty soon!
