I like it. I might try it out soon since I love everything poker-related. I have been playing poker ever since high school, and till nowadays, I still do. Before, I used to always play in casinos but ever since the Covid started, I started to gamble online. I found a really cool place https://holdemtour.com that had poker and slots games. Ever since that day, I have played there at least three times a week. Even though the casinos are opening now, I still won’t stop online gambling.

I've always enjoyed the social element of a good friendly poker game. With shelter in place, video calls just weren't scratching that same itch. I rushed to build a no-limit hold-em poker app that merges video chat with elements of risk. I've spent too many hours playing over the past week with my friends and colleagues that I wanted to open this up to the world. Hope that this brings some sense of normalcy to you all. (NOTE: This uses Twilio for video, so for longer games, I'm trying to pass some of the cost on so I don't go too broke. Happy to open source once I clean it up a bit as well).

Hi Nicholas, are you still developing this?
Nicholas Clark
@riccardo_di_paola Yep sure am - Bunch of new updates coming soon
Ray Nolan
Great idea ... couldn't get it to work tho :(. Is it supposed to email the invites ? Nothing arrived. When they guys logged in .. nothing came up to say there was a game invite waiting either.
Nicholas Clark
@ray_nolan hey Ryan. I’ll look into the emails. Possible they went into the spam folder? You can also send them the link you get redirected to and if they go there they’ll be added to the game
Nicholas Clark
@ray_nolan Just to follow up here Ray - Had the wrong key for email. Should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing out.
Ray Nolan
@nclarksf We still didn't get the mail to work but played using the link. With a bit of tidying up, there's a paid product in here. Bigger video circles - makes it more social Smoother invite process Simpler bidding HTH All in all a decent experience - thanks!!
Nicholas Clark
@ray_nolan Thanks much for the feedback. Agree with all of the above. Thoughts on a simpler bidding process? And by HTH (head to head I assume?), what would you like to see there. If you're open, collecting a list of feedback here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsh...

Everyone in this life has the opportunity to win. I think online gambling is cool. I know a lot of the best games of chance for consoles ( here ) because I work directly with this and therefore I can boast of such knowledge. It's not hard for me to share this with you too if you're interested.
Junior Owolabi
It’s a great product, how long do it take you to make. Are going to add more features to it, like different themes playing in a bar, on the street, etc.
Nicholas Clark
@rilwan_owolabi1 hey Junior. It took about 2 weeks of some nights and weekends. Then plenty of play testing of course. As for new features, sure would be fun to keep going. I plan to open source it all as well.
Jonathan Lyons
Lots of fun and works really well! Great job, @nclarksf!
Nicholas Clark
@jonlyons Thanks Jon! Let's play again this weekend

YAAAS. Pokerstars UI/UX was garbage when my friends wanted to play a private game, excited to try this. edit // Love that this is browser based, no need for install. Minor issue -- I couldn't do SSO while on Brave, but it worked on Chrome.
Nicholas Clark
@bblee Thanks Brandon! Will check out Brave and see what's going. Also, going to make all game lengths free for the first week or two (and just subsidize the cost), so please enjoy and any feedback is welcomed
Ray Nolan
Thanks !! Playing away here :)
Nicholas Clark
@ray_nolan Awesome :) Would love some feedback when you're done. nbclark @ gmail.com

Great idea and realization! I’m glad to try it tonight! Thanks!

@shepovalovdenis Thanks Denis - let me know what you think!

Good app!

This is super cool! I have shared it with all my poker groups.
Jesse Jensen
LOVE THIS! @nclarksf Will there be an option to just use regular email and password?
Nicholas Clark
@jessehojjensen Thanks Jesse -- Yeah I can add that. Google was just a convenience. Happy to add FB or just email too.
David Hansen
Hey Nicholas what kind of deck shuffling algorithm do you use? I mean it can't be any worse than river/straight/flush-Stars lol but just curious about the mathematics behind it
Nicholas Clark
@shanny1719 Good question - TBH didn't do a ton of research into it, but I used a PNRG named sfc32 with a seed unique to each hand xor'ed with a secure seed and then a random allocation of cards into sequential starting points in the deck. Sounds like you know a bit about this. Any tips?

Would be nice to collect players payments and re-distribute earnings. Is it even allowed by the current US regulation to move funds between players in the case of an online home game?

I cannot wait to have this open sourced! My friends and I play every weekend, and we have some unique things we'd like to see, such as a "shot pot" where we take a shot if the pot reaches a certain threshold. 😂 Well done! It's impressive that you put this together so quickly. I'd be happy to help knock out bugs once this is open sourced too.
Steve Raymond
I can't get past login, it just hangs. I'll donate $25 if I can use it for my game this weekend!
Nicholas Clark
@steveray Hey Steve - There was an issue with the google api key (locked it down and had the wrong domain). Give it a go again - Worked for myself and a few others.

Hello! I also love casinos. But I visit a casino in real life, not an online casino. So it’s much easier for me to follow what is happening. Moreover, in this way, I can meet many wonderful people. Often my friends and I love to pack up at home and play poker. I almost always win, because I use a little trick. I use www.markedcardsshop.com They help me win very often, because I play not very well. If you want to win as often as I do, I advise you to purchase these cards!
Thomas Paterson
Hi Nicholas, are you still developing this? It is a really cool idea and I would like to play poker with the people that share their camera as that would definitely be similar to a real-life casino which I really miss nowadays because of the coronavirus. I am playing currently Live Casino Guru site and really enjoy it, but I would like developers to add this feature with the possibility to turn on the webcam. Hope they will implement it in one day.
