Would love it if coffee shops specifically implemented this! Being a coffee house junkie, I can't tell you how much of a bummer it is to sometimes arrive and have no seating. I had a thought at one time to simply place webcams in a store with visual recognition to keep track of available seating--problem is is I don't think shops necessarily want their customers to not show up just because there's no seating. Will crowdsourcing work well here? What's the return for my effort on your behalf?

Really cool idea! I'd definitely give it a try and can't even imagine how high-valuable the data will be for all the stores – big time!
