I'm excited to announce the launch of my fourteen app, Photo Tape: Photo Tape was created to solve a simple problem: how to easily combine two or more photos. While the photo collage market is crowded, I believe Photo Tape's method is unique: - Intuitive: Just drag your photos and watch them snap into place exactly where you need them. - Efficient: Photo Tape is focused on doing one thing exceptionally well—joining photos without unnecessary complexity. - Flexible: Ditch the rigid frames of traditional collage apps. With Photo Tape, choose your photos and adjust them on the fly. The app automatically scales and crops images as you arrange them, offering a much more dynamic and enjoyable experience. Photo Tape is available now for $2.99, completely ad-free and without subscriptions.

Launching soon!
After watching the video you shared, the image stitching process seems very smooth and seamless. I'm eager to give it a try!

This can be very convenient for arranging pictures, especially when you want to post multiple images on Instagram. Congratulations on the launch.
Mr. John
@brandon_cccc Thanks, and Reddit too, where replies can only have one image.

congratulations on the launch of photo tape, mr. john. i particularly appreciate the emphasis on flexibility and efficiency in photo arrangement which many traditional collage apps lack. considering the unique snapping mechanism you've integrated, how does photo tape handle different aspect ratios to maintain photo quality, especially when scaling and cropping? also, what inspired you to focus solely on an ad-free and subscription-free model for this app?
Mr. John
@mashy Full quality and the aspect ratio are always maintained. This is not the whole solution, though, because you won't always be able to make the different aspect ratios match to form a perfect rectangle. That's where Photo Tape is always calculating the "empty spaces" and, when it finds one, offers a rectangle to drag the photo into, where it's cropped to fill the available space.

The idea is pretty cool – just the thought of snapping pictures together without fiddling with stubborn grids gets an upvote from me. How does Photo Tape deal with different photo qualities?
Mr. John
@aman_wen The full resolution is always kept. However, at export time, no image is ever upscaled. This preserves the image quality in most scenarios, but if you have a high-resolution photo and some pixel art, the high-resolution photo would be downscaled a lot. I'll add more export size options in the future.

Ditching fixed grids for something this flexible is brilliant. Hats off to John for making something so user-friendly and versatile!

Congratulations on launching Photo Tape! It looks fantastic and seems incredibly user-friendly, allowing for flexible photo arrangement beyond the typical fixed grids. I'm interested in downloading it, but I noticed it's priced at $4.99. Have you considered offering a free trial period before requiring users to upgrade? This could potentially attract more users to try it out first.
Mr. John
@jonwhitby Hi, It's $2.99 USD. A free trial could be possible in the future, for sure. However, the app was designed to fill a foundational desire when sharing photos; all my screens and copy reinforce that, so for those who immediately see the usefulness, the modest price isn't an obstacle. 😊
Jon Whitby
@johnbalestrieri I’m in Australia which explains the price differnce.
