Pathica - Find a path to connect with anyone on Instagram.

@mkaras Hello Mike, yes you are correct, unfortunately it is impossible to check if an instagram account is a real person or not. But there is a solution in the app if you do not like the results. Please click target profile, you will see "Detailed Search" button at the bottom. You can find 2 options there, "Who would you like to contact through" and "Who would you not like to contact through". You can set filters there. And additionally, in result detail pages, please navigate to bottom of the page, you will see "Create another path" button, whenever you click that button, Pathica will create a new completely different path. @mkaras And also, I think there is a misunderstanding of path analyze. If you and John Stamos both follows IKEA, this is not a connection path. Pathica finds this: Target -> X -> Y -> You. In this scenario, target is following X, X is following Y and Y is following you. So, if John Stamos follows IKEA and IKEA does not follows you, then it is not a connection path for Pathica.

@mkaras Pathica uses your followers (not the accounts you follow) when creating the connection paths. That means, the last instagram account in the chain just above you is following you (so you are a friend of him/her, and it doesn't matter if you follow that account or not)

@isayeter This is actually pretty fun to use. Presumably, this doesn't fall within Instagram's T&Cs? It seems much faster than some other middle-man APIs I've used, which I assume are usually just scraping each time a call is made. It would be cool if there were some aspects of this available as an API.

Hello @deejtulleken , thank you for your interest. Pathica uses it's own memory to create connection paths. When you install Pathica and connect your Instagram account, we analyze your followers and accounts you follow and we send those datas to Pathica's Cloud Memory. This data only consists of public user ID's and user names, nothing else. All user accounts in Pathica's Cloud Memory are either a public account or saved by one of the Pathica user's data. Is there any middle-man API's ? I didn't know. Pathica does not scrap Instagram when you create a connection path. It uses it's own DB. There will be an API in the future maybe I am not sure at the moment. Thank you.

@isayeter That makes sense. I assumed something like this in order to be performant. Your requirements are more complex than my own use case, but I'd imagine this is not necessarily accurate in real-time then?

@deejtulleken yes, results are not real-time but they are very highly correct (unless someone unfollows someone in the path chain, but Pathica clears and updates it’s cache very frequently)
