Howdy Hunters, Thank you @kevin for hunting Paco! We love Slack - how lively and interactive it makes our virtual workplaces. But sometimes it becomes too much of a good thing. The constant chatter can interrupt our ability to do focused work. For some of us makers, it causes constant anxiety that something important might slip through the cracks. We created Paco to bring some calm focus back into our lovely Slack lives. We have been building Paco with a group of amazing early adopters over the past couple of months, and are now ready to share it with you all. Here is how it works: 🐶 Single-Player Mode Hit 'Add to Paco' from the actions menu for any message that you want to track. Paco will consolidate it into a single queue that you can process anytime you want. It will also send you a daily reminder about it at a time of your choosing. 🧑🏽‍🤝‍🧑🏼 Team Mode Add Paco to any team channel and watch it automatically detect messages that may need to be followed upon. Or you can mention @paco in any message and it will create a thread to follow up on it. ✅ Paco Queue Paco queue gives you peace of mind that you won't miss anything important. You can access the queue anytime within Slack using the /paco-track command, get a daily reminder, or access it on the web app. We want Paco to become that trusty sidekick that makes you more effective, giving you more time to do epic things. It is learning new tricks fast. e.g. Coming soon -- a deep work mode where it saves you from all the 'quick questions', a dedicated queue for pull reminders and pending Jira tickers, and more. Give it a try and let us know what you think! p.s. We learnt today that we are featured as a 'New & Noteworthy' app by the Slack App Directory team. The timing couldn't be better.

@kevin @paco @arraysum Great product! Helps me get stuff out of my head and into a system that works. Having that system in slack is life-changing (hate having to set these reminders in Asana or my calendar). Congrats 🚀
Sumit Suman
@martin_carrica1 Thank you Martin! Appreciate the support
Eugene Hauptmann
@kevin @paco @arraysum Ahaha, can you guys add auto-respond feature?
Sameer Narang
It's on the way, Eugene - we'll release it in the coming days. Would you like to beta test it? Drop us a line at team@pachohq.com

@kevin @paco @arraysum @eugenehp that would be such a great feature. I do get the same queries lot of time. Can this work even when i’m offline ? Always great to have a proxy :)

It is great to see a product that actually focuses on improving engineering productivity rather than just show some stats. This can be a really powerful tool for our teams @ LinkedIn. Especially love that developers can start using it on day 1 rather than waiting for a long drawn corporate approval process. Would love to know more about how you guys think about ensuring data privacy as Paco scales and becomes viral?
Sameer Narang
@hawk_eye That's a great point - we use Google's Cloud Platform for our servers and databases. So all data is encrypted at rest and in motion. We take privacy very seriously, so we have access controls with limited admin access. Every message flowing through Paco is encrypted and Paco only tracks the messages where it's marked. In terms of security, we are working on getting third party tests and certifications to ensure peace of mind for our valued customers.

@officialexaking Ha ha the idea of Paco coin is compelling though. I hear that there is a quick buck to be made from the hustle. Jokes apart, Jim -- would love to hear your feedback as you try it

Great product. There is a strong demand for a product like this that enhances the productivity at work while quietly staying in the background. Awesome work, team!
Sumit Suman
@aawasthi Thank you! What do you guys use at Google? Something available to the rest of the world?
Ashish Awasthi
@arraysum We use a combination of Google Workspace and some internal tools. I'm looking forward to playing around with Paco more.
Arun Maharajan
I have been a early user. Works very well to keep track of those things which tends to get missed. An invaluable asset for distributed high performance teams, esp. for WFH scenarios.
Sumit Suman
@manchmaler Thanks for the support Arun!
Nitin Pande
@manchmaler Thanks a lot for your support and feedback throughout our journey Arun!

I've been using Paco for a few weeks now and it quickly became a part of my daily routine. I easily get 10-20 tasks/requests a day through Slack messages and before Paco I always had the anxiety that I'd read a message and then forget about it. Now I read messages as they come in and if they need further action I just "Add to Paco...". Once per day I set aside about an hour to go through the Paco web UI and deal with the tasks that have accumulated. Paco has already been very useful as a Slack "in tray" for me but there's also potential for many more great features to be added and I look forward to those.
Sumit Suman
@vikasgorur Vikas your feedback has shaped the product so significantly. We should have something like a honorary 'co-founding customer' title for you.
Nitin Pande
@vikasgorur Thank you for being the amazing guiding customer that you have been for us!!

Paco is a clever little Slack app that lowers the barrier for tracking work — a lot. Often, as teams work on a day-day basis, they need things from each other. Many of these are often untracked pieces of work, not existing on any board, roadmap, or to-dos. Come standup time, you hear a litany of "I am waiting on X for..." and then a scrum master or PM will update the ticket and board. Paco lowers this barrier by tracking those untracked asks, consolidating them, following up with individuals on both sides of a dependency and improving visibility. Because it fits into your existing communication flow, no one needs to go out of their way to do anything extra.
Sumit Suman
@parthawasthi Thanks Parth! Thanks for being such a vocal early adopter
Nitin Pande
@parthawasthi Thank you using Paco and for giving us all your valuable feedback!
Scott N Decker
Anything to help re-shape expectations around Slack/chat-in-general and reduce the noise is an upvote for me
Sumit Suman
@scott_n_decker Thanks Scott! Definitely in the same boat as you :). Try Paco and let me know how it goes.
Gabe Perez
Reading "calm" & "Slack" in the same sentence drew me in. Watched the demo and this looks really promising. Wonder if there are plans to integrate other task trackers like Asana or Trello in the future?
Sumit Suman
@gabe__perez Thanks Gabe! Feels great when people resonate with what went on behind the scenes to get to this point. Yes -- we will go all in on integrations. Have Jira and Github coming in, and then will get to the others. Give it a try!
Gabe Perez
@arraysum All I can say then is 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌
Himanshu Upreti
Amazing Product! Kudos to founders for solving such a key problem.
Sameer Narang
@himanshu_upreti - much appreciated, and thanks for being one of the early users!
Alejandro Cantarero
This looks really interesting! Do you have anyone using this for customer support? We have some shared slack channels with customers for our B2B SaaS product. Making sure something that needs a reply doesn't get lost there is obviously really important. In going through the website and product demo video, the one challenge there might be there is a team of people that do customer support. Is there a way for Paco to show that some Slack member owns or is working the task that Paco is tracking?
Sumit Suman
@alejandro_cantarero1 Need to think it through. We have the notion of who added the message and who all are mentioned. Who owns the ask is another potential user type to consider. Would you like to talk live? Drop a line at team@pacohq.com or book a quick meeting here: https://calendly.com/pacohq
Swati Khandelwal
Excellent product! It is exciting to see there is a product that really helps in organizing/prioritizing communications on messaging tools. It is a powerful tool that brings real quantifiable efficiency. Are you guys planning to integrate Paco with other communication channels - such as Symphony?
Sameer Narang
Thx, Swati - we appreciate the feedback! The problem space certainly does extend beyond Slack and we intend to build aggressively to cover more platforms. Stay tuned for updates on new integrations :)
