More and more people are using AI chatbots like Bard instead of doing a Google search. This opens a new challenge for the marketer, how do you monitor brand notions for those AI searches? This is the problem that Otterly solves: monitor brand mention across GPT, Gemini, and Bing Copilot. AI searches can open a new era for SEO. Otterly can help you to be amoung the pioneers in the field.

@fabian_maume THANKS so much for hunting Fabian!! And yes - I'd love to hear from others on how they solve brand monitoring on those LLMs?
Robert Rotznig
@fabian_maume @mike_qiu thanks so much Mike!!
Jake Tital
@fabian_maume Really excited to see you supporting this project Fabian. You got my full support today

@fabian_maume Thank you for the concise overview. As someone who has done SEO, social listening, brand monitoring, etc., for decades (especially in the context of market research for helping clients achieve language-market fit), this is a REALLY good problem + solution to discover. I hadn't even considered it. I've found it daunting to keep up with the meeting of "AI" and SEO in general, although though @randfish has continually been sharing compelling insights and data.
Eithiriel DeMerè
@robert_rotznig REALLY cool (and innovative!) problem + solution to explore.
Joonatan
Interesting approach to brand monitoring, this could be beneficial also for the product I'm working with.
Robert Rotznig
@joonatanvanhala Thanks Joonatan! What's your product and did you came across the question of: How visible is my product on ChatGPT?
Joonatan
@robert_rotznig The product is Stockle - a platform for retail investors. Currently I have to admit that it is not that visible in ChatGPT
Robert Rotznig
@joonatanvanhala Stockle - sounds like a great idea too! I just asked Otterly.AI -> "What are the best investment platforms for retail investors". This is the response I get for GPT-4 and Google Gemini - do those brands sound like familiar competitors? https://share.cleanshot.com/D7xN...
Joonatan
@robert_rotznig Interesting, thanks for the check up! I would say they all are somewhat competitors but not 100% directly as they seem to be brokerages whereas Stockle is more of an investment management/tracking/analysing platform.
Thomas Peham
Getting started with Content Monitoring on LLMs is the first step. But how do marketing teams make those insights actionable = improve their own visibility on ChatGPT or Google SGE?
Robert Rotznig
@thomas_peham ultimately that's the vision of Otterly.AI. We want to help marketers get actions out of those insights. Right now there are various factors, and also limitations that decide how visible you, your content and brand are on LLMs. I wrote an lengthy article about how to improve your visibility here: https://otterly.ai/app/?page=hel...
Robert Rotznig
@thomas_peham The short summary is: The most efficient way to optimize your brand and content on GPT-3 and GPT-4 involves: 1- Reddit SEO/Content Optimization: Start by understanding the Reddit community, creating valuable, engaging content, optimizing your titles, posting at the right time, and using links wisely. This will help to boost your content's visibility on Reddit, which is a key data source for GPT-3 and GPT-4. 2 - Wikipedia Optimization: Create a brand page if your brand meets Wikipedia's notability requirements. Contribute to existing Wikipedia pages that are relevant to your industry or brand, cite reliable sources, follow Wikipedia guidelines strictly, and engage experienced Wikipedia authors or agencies. 3- Creating and Publishing Books: Though resource-intensive, publishing your books via open-source licenses on the internet can effectively disseminate your brand's message and values, impacting your visibility on LLMs in the long run. 4 - Web Content Optimization: Create engaging web content, and implement effective marketing strategies that can ultimately impact your brand's AI ranking.

I keep manually searching about Mockup Generators on Bard, Perplexity, and ChatGPT to see if Mockey is coming up in the answers or not. We do come up on Perplexity, but other LLMs with older data show the legacy players with old domains and better traffic. I will try this out, though the traffic from these discovery channels is too little today to worry. But might be a major discovery channel in the future. Visionary product for sure πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
Robert Rotznig
@rajat_dangi1 Thanks so much Rajat!! Right now, Otterly.AI support GPT-4 (ChatGPT) and Gemini Pro (Google SGE), but Perplexity monitoring is on our product roadmap! Please give Otterly.AI a try - I'd love to hear your in-depth product feedback!
Salar Davari
This is really practical. like the idea behind it.
Robert Rotznig
@salar__davari Thanks so much Salar!! Really appreciate it. Btw: Otterly.AI is free for 5 prompt to monitor ;-)
Salar Davari
@robert_rotznig Good to hear that. You allow users to get to know your product better before buying it. That's shows you believe in your work.
Robert Rotznig
@salar__davari oh yes, 100%
Oleksandra Vasiukhnyk
I've been really impressed with Otterly.ai's approach to brand and content visibility. It's rare to find a tool that offers such thorough insights with an AI-powered search experience. Being able to monitor not just my brand, but also competitors and market trends, all in one place, has been a game-changer for my marketing strategy. I do have a question though: How does Otterly.ai ensure the accuracy of its AI analysis, especially when it comes to understanding and monitoring nuanced brand content? Keep up the great work!
Robert Rotznig
@oleksandra_vasiukhnyk thanks so much for your feedback! Otterly AI basically looks at all the brand mentions across GPT-4 and Google Gemini and then aggregates them into one ranking / view / dashboard. We ensure accuracy by executing the same prompt many times to ensure that the results / brand mentions are objectively correct. Does this make sense?
Rebecca Meyer
Cool idea. Congrats on the launch.
Robert Rotznig
@rebecca_meyer Thanks Rebecca!!
Daniel Pirciu
Wow, I just tried it out, and what I like even more than the product is the "How to improve your brand visibility on LLMs" section ... although Brizy is not currently ranking in the top website builders, focusing on Reddit is a great new idea for us :D Good luck on your launch!
Robert Rotznig
@daniel_pirciu thanks so much for the feedback Daniel! Since the whole space is very early, we try to educate ourselves and our users as much as possible on our blog and in our help center!
Robert Rotznig
πŸš€ Hey all - I'm Robert, and I'm thrilled to launch Otterly.AI today on Product Hunt! 🌟 Otterly.AI is the new way in content & brand monitoring for AI-powered Search Experiences. Discover how visible YOU are on Google SGE & ChatGPT. Think of SEMrush for LLMs. Why I started Otterly.AI? Today, people use ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Google SGE to find answers in 2024. But is your brand and marketing ready? Organic search traffic will decrease by 50% until 2028 (according to Gartner) as more consumers embrace AI-powered searches and traditional Search platforms will look more like conversational interfaces. Otterly.AI helps you to prepare your brand and content. With Otterly.AI, you can monitor your brand, competition and any prompt on LLMs and AI-powered searches. We have everything you need to become more visible on ChatGPT, Google Bard/SGE, and Microsoft Copilot. Why give it a try? You can monitor up to 5 prompts for free. Every other prompt is $19/month. πŸ‘€ We’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any questions you might have. Do you monitor your content and brand on ChatGPT or Google SGE? πŸ’¬ Let's start a great discussion! What feature are you most excited to try?
Nick Stein
As so much content is being created now, any help that my team can get monitoring mentions etc. is extremely useful.
Robert Rotznig
@nick_stein2 Thanks Nick! I highly recommend the brand mention KPI to check out when you give it a try!
Markus Reutner
The "Brand mentions" concept is clear to marketers. But for now, it's just "a number" that needs to be translated into tangible results - a theory could be "the better the brand, the more demo requests" (currently testing!). To help with that, are there any (educated) guesses as to when Google, Bing & co. are planning to roll "LLM search" out? Not limiting it to the more tech-savvy , prompt-writing peeps? Eventually, we need to show more than just "brand", i.e. traffic & conversions.
Robert Rotznig
@markus_reutner 100% agree. Right now, it's early days for LLM monitoring, but I truly believe that in the future companies will track more than just brand mentions on LLMs - but rather traffic and conversions, similar to SEO and organic traffic. Right now, Google SGE is still quite in experimental stage and it will be interesting to see how and when Google will roll Gen AI answers out globally....
Julien
Great idea. Besides ranking, it would be cool to analyze what the AI bots are saying about the brand.
Robert Rotznig
@julien_opilot Great point Julien! Actually we also extract the brand mentions, but the brand sentiment tracking is also something that's on our product ideation / roadmap.
Kim Ria
The wait is over! Congratulations on the launch of this amazing app !!!!
Robert Rotznig
@kim_ria Thanks Kim! Make sure to give Otterly.AI a try :)
Fabian Greiler
For me, Otterly.ai is the first step in Generative Engine Optimization, which will become a huge topic for marketers everywhere. Today, Otterly.ai helps me to better understand how our brand is performing in LLMs, and I am excited about the future of this tool, especially regarding features helping us to optimize content for AI chats.
Robert Rotznig
@fabian_greiler1 Thanks Fabian! We really appreciate you being an early tester of Otterly.AI!!
Robert Rotznig
@fabian_greiler1 Speaking of "Generative Engine Optimization" => I will be interesting to see how the whole marketing category will be called. Search Engine Land for example calls it "Artificial Intelligence Optimization (AIO)". Others refer to it at GAIO (Generative AI Optimization)....let's see πŸ˜…
Peter Jeitschko
Launching soon!
How can I improve my brand's visibility on ChatGPT?
Robert Rotznig
@pejeitsc Great question Peter! The short version: By focusing on user generated content (be it on reddit or other forums), by being visible on Wikipedia, plus by following a few SEO principles from the latest E-E-A-T update. I wrote a full article on the topic here - disclaimer: You have to create a free Otterly account to see the full article: https://otterly.ai/app/?page=hel...
Ana
Good luck on your launch and thanks for thinking ahead of the market. Can't wait to explore!
Robert Rotznig
@ana_ideabuddy Thanks Ana! Definitely feels we are at the forefront of the market. With the Google SGE rollout it will be interesting to see how marketing teams adopt new tools to monitor content and brands.
Kate Ramakaieva
Hey Robert! Congrats πŸ‘πŸ» I like the concept, it is always time consuming to monitor the performance 🀯
Robert Rotznig
@kate_ramakaieva Hi Kate - thanks so much πŸ™Œ Yes, that's one of the main reasons why I started Otterly.AI. I thought there must be an automated way to monitor and check how visible my content and brand is on ChatGPT.
Alex Ford
I've just shared with my community @robert_rotznig
Robert Rotznig
@alex_ford6 Thanks a million Alex! Have you tried Otterly AI yet?
Trent Kennelly
Fabulous! It was a matter of time until someone put a tool together to help with AI search (which is obviously where SEO is right now). This one absolutely kills it! Really great product, awesome job πŸ‘
Robert Rotznig
@trent_kennelly Thanks a million for your feedback Trent! What's the most helpful feature you are looking for when it comes to monitoring the AI search space?
Claudia Heindl
Sounds like a fantastic product. How is the share voice calculated?
Robert Rotznig
@claudia_heindl the Share of Voice Metric is basically calculated as: Your Brand Mentions / Total Brand Mentions x 100 = Share of Voice I wrote more about the calculation in this blog post: https://otterly.ai/blog/share-of...
