Good morning product hunt :) Myself, @azizfirat and @yavorpunchev have been working on Oku in our spare time from our bedrooms and now felt like a good time to share. Originally we wanted to track our own reading lists but also to see our friend’s thoughts & book recommendations too. Oku was built to solve that. Some features include: * Track your reading lists * Review & recommend books * Organise custom collections * Follow your friends * Import your books & collections directly from Goodreads (or start fresh) * Set reading goals & view stats (premium, coupon code below 👀) * Install the PWA directly to your phone I’ve always been kinda interested in tracking and quantifying things. Books, music, sleep, etc. I had been a Goodreads user for years, and it was obvious there were plenty of people like me. The problem is Goodreads is cluttered and chaotic, and has seemed pretty stagnant since Amazon acquired it back in 2013. Here we are 18 months later, with a name change & some small paid features behind us! We believe that being member-supported is the only way to truly align our interests with readers best interests (opposed to advertisers/Amazon’s best interests.) Naturally it felt like time to see what Product Hunt thinks, so would love to hear it! Happy to answer any questions 🙂 And if you read this far you should be expecting a coupon code! Try code PRODUCTHUNT at checkout for 20% off all plans.

@joe_alcorn https://oku.club/user/murat, bit of a disconnect between what i've read and want to read 😄

@azizfirat @yavorpunchev @joe_alcorn There are the top 7 books that I always recommend to friends, from historical fiction to easy beach reads. 📚 😊 I noticed that when my friends recommend some book, more likely I will actually love it. 🤓 I believe you'll get a huge fan base soon🚀

I have been using Oku for a while now and I must say it's one of my favorite apps to use! Oku is a unique app that has made me read more books. Paired with the minimalistic design of the app it's perfect for daily use.

First of all, congrats to the makers for launching for real. I've been using Oku for quite a while now and what I like most about it compared to alternatives is that there is zero pressure to it. If I don't want to, I don't have to worry about how much I've read. I don't feel obliged to finish books I don't read and it helps me keep track of the multiple books I'm reading at the same time. ❤️ Edit: Oh yeah, follow me on Oku! https://oku.club/user/thomas
Aziz Firat
@thomasoffinga Thanks for the love Thomas! 🥰

I've been using Trello for my next/current/done book lists, but it's not ideal. I find GoodReads to be a bit full on, so it's gonna be great to try this! Thanks @mutlu82 @azizfirat @yavorpunchev @joe_alcorn !
Aziz Firat
@nik_hazell email us if there is anything, thanks for trying out!

Would love to hear how you get on @nik_hazell!

I've been using Readng (now Oku) since the open beta, and I've fell in love with it the very seconds I dig into it. Being the simplicity of the product, the well created UI and the honesty of the team's communication, it's been great from beginning to end. While I still didn't feel the need of subscribing because I don't use the product enough to require the additional features such a reading goal, stats & cie, I would love to be able to purchase something like a "Support Pack", allowing to give money to the team to support their effort, even if it's just a one time purchase. That being said, never say never, maybe using Oku will bring me a sense of accomplishment enough that I'd want to get into the reading competition and share my reading stats! Congrats team, and keep up to good work! ✌️ Note: I don't use the mobile version, only the desktop one, and I love that you took care of crafting a solid desktop experience!

I have been using Oku for a few months now and I love it. It feels like my own digital bookshelf that I can share with my friends. And I do hate to send Amazon links for books to people when they ask for a recommendation. Instead I take time to write reviews and update my reading list. The best thing is, it will always be independent and not bought out by Amazon to starve to death. Can’t wait for the iOS app. 🤩 see y’all on oku!

@adamwallat Appreciate it Adam!
