@huangdun Hi Dun! The watering system is at the bottom of the wheel — it rotates so that each plant gets watered at a specific interval. It also rotates to replicate natural wind/outdoor environment.
This is seriously cool! One of my dreams is to have my own small garden and my other dream is to live in New York, this seems like it can help me combine the two!
The form factor of this is probably the biggest improvement over others. With a circular design you can fit ~4 times the number of plants in the same footprint. The rotation keeps the rest of the functional elements simple by not requiring water piping across the entire wheel.
This reminds me of a humidifier for the home. In particularly, the one we have at our house is the Boneco H680 and utilizes a very similar design, with a water reservoir at the bottom and a rotating water wheel:
What's also interesting is the ability to grow these vegetables upside down, at least for a certain period of time. Seems like something that would be of value to zero-G (Space) use...

@lisa_mcneil I am so sorry that happen to you, i have purchasted one from their website a few days before xmas, and i received it last week. So i dont think they are scam because if that was the case i think i would never have received mine. Its a cool machine but sometime the wheel can make some sound. I am from Montreal Canada, and here the ogarden is kind of popular we can see it often in tv show and newspaper. OGarden is a Canadian company from Quebec so they did not expend in Canada, they are from Canada. I did spoke on the phone with them to ask about the wheel and they explain me how to fix it and stuff we will see. I think the problem is the language barrier their team seem really small and they dont seem really good at english Quebec first language is french so maybe thats why you did not received an anwser from them since? Please keep us updated of the situation. Again i am sorry for you
Just going to copy Lisa here because I've had the exact same experience. This is the second time this creator has created this type of product. They are scamming people. As a kickstarter backer and almost one year after the campaign, I have NOT received my unit...I have requested a refund numerous times...I have called and emailed them several times with NO response. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY! As a backer we were given 30 day money back guarantee, but they will not issue a refund for a unit NOT received. As a backer we were given a one year warranty, but I was NEVER sent my unit and I tried to cancel the order since June 2019. This company is UNRESPONSIVE and does not follow through with promises to their customers.
This thing has been sitting on my floor unassembled for a month. I don't even know if it works. The instructions are so incredibly bad. They have small faded black and white photos that I can't even see with a lighted magnifying lens. Oh and it came cracked! Why don't you guys at least have a video on the steps to assemble it!!!
The OGarden Smart has performed beyond my expectations. It is really fun to watch the plants come up and see the whole process from the comfort of my office. Customer service was also fantastic. I would recommend the OGarden to anyone, especially if you have kids
Ideal for an indoor unit. When to add water, it tells you.
Lights are fully automatic. Without bugs or other problems, my room smells amazing. My favorite way to add fresh basil to my homemade tomato sauce is to garnish it with fresh parsley. It requires very little maintenance.
Here are the cons:
There are times when plants grow unevenly in the cabinet, resulting in uneven wheels.
Plants are very close to one another. It will be necessary to prune them periodically.
This was a gift for a salad lover for Christmas. We had no problems setting it up and our tomatoes, lettuce, and herbs all worked well. As an experienced gardener of many years, it is doing just what I expect in the first few days.
I only had one disappointment: I originally ordered a black model, but received a white one instead. Nevertheless, we are keeping the unit. In any case, the color of the base unit won't matter once the plants get bigger. After 250 days: We are still eating tomatoes and having fun. A second unit was ordered to grow (basil, parsley and thyme.)
Since posting online and social media I have been "dropped" by OGarden as a backer and they still have NOT refunded me, messaged me, emailed me, or called me....
