Notify for Spotify displays a notification when new songs are played, lets you easily control playback in your menubar, and skip songs directly from the notification.

I created Notify for Spotify after switching from Apple Music and being surprised that it didn't show a notification when songs switched. I tried a couple other apps but found them to be buggy (Spotify doesn't immediately provide song metadata when playing from search, so other apps would show no notifications, or empty metadata) and didn't let you control playback from the menubar. I hope you like it!

I would also love to see these features: • Using mouse hover instead of click to see the mini player • Showing Lyrics • Seeking-UI control for individual songs • Customizable icon on the status bar • Control center widget • a Preferences panel • Share button for social media • About section so we could buy you a coffee 😉

A+ app, nifty addition for the Spotify regular user. Just purchased the product. Keeps me in the flow without having to toggle back and forth the Spotify app. Nice work @vthommeret.

Not sure if this is possible in macOS but if you could make the monitor the notifications appear on configurable that would be awesome!

Sounds interesting! I would have purchased right away if you had the "like" feature embedded in the menu bar. My #1 use case would be to help me curate my Discover Weekly playlist and tune the Spotify algos. I always forget to go to the app and click "like", let me know if you ever build that functionality!
