nophone app is so stupid. this is just a links to many of the appz on my motog. just a few hours of development. i can come out of the app very easily. my sms and whatsap still happen. what ois the point of this app. i do not understand

@robert76 I can't agree with you more. It's stupid by design, and yet it links to two other apps on your phone. And yes I believe a telented dev like you can come out with an App like this in a weekend. But it's designed to keep me from using my phone, and it works. And for the listed problems the App will evolve, it will get bew features so chill 😉

@robert76 WIth like 10 minutes in Nova launcher, using zooper widget or kwgt, you can do this, but that's not the point.

Seems like a great concept :) Any plans for releasing an IOS version? Would be happy to test out.

@fosterhank iOS does not permit the same level of customisation that Android Supports. But this app is written in React Native, so we can expect a standalone iOS app soon.

Hey there, I'm Aswin Mohan the maker of NoPhone. It's an Android Launcher designed to help stop overusing your Phone. The Story I recently started to keep track of the time that I was spending on my phone, and it shot upwards of 6 hours per day average. That was a little too much for me. That's when I started looking for alternatives. Light Phone seemed promising but was expensive and I didn't need another hardware phone. That's why I built NoPhone. The Answer It's an Android Launcher that takes up your HomeScreen and then gives you access to only the bare neccessities. It's pretty uncomfortable to change the HomeScreen App everytime you login and hides all the other apps. It's gets the job done and I have been using it for a while. So give it a try and give your valuable feedback :D

@aswin_mohan2 Love the concept and totally agree on the Light Phone thoughts. I was attracted to it as a way to leave the smartphone but in the end you have to deal with more things (and the price!). This could be a solution. Will try it.

@ddouble7 The honest reason this App is not available on the Apple family is because Iam poor. You just need 25$ and a laptop for developing for Android. But for iOS you need a Mac and 99$. Don't want to bore you with a sob story, but the barrier for entry is a little too high. The App works on an iOS too since it's cross platform by design.

This is a much needed product for this age of distracting products that tries to keep you in loop.

Pros:

Makes mobile very minimal, ideal for times like jogging, working etc

Cons:

Little bit of bugs here and there

Very simple design. But I still can access my notifications.

Pros: looks great, works great. It's a great alternative for people who aren't locked into certain apps like me. Cons: can't change the tasks app to my preferred tasks app (todoist). That's about it.

One more thing I need is a music player shortcut. If that is available then this will become my default launcher.

Good improvement since NoPhone permits to keep two apps on the screen !
