New Tab with MoMA - Start your Google search with art

With New Tab with MoMA, you’ll see a different artwork from our collection each time you open a new tab—from Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” to Felix Gonzalez-Torres’s “'Untitled' (Perfect Lovers)"—and can click through to read, listen, and see more.

We recently collaborated with our friends at Google to create New Tab with MoMA, a Google Chrome extension built on Google Tab Maker. After installing this extension, when you open a new tab, you’ll be presented with a random work of art from the Museum’s collection. We hope this offers a nice break from things, and offers a space for reflection and art, as you browse the web.

@eli8527 Which browsers will the extension be compatible with, other than Chrome?

This is a very pleasant addition to the everyday browser experience. Also a very effective demo of how MOMA could in principle greatly improve the impression they make on their users -- their web site design has long failed to incorporate many features which would be good for both their institution and its large public.
