It looks promising, but the amount of info you have to give for the trial is off-putting. I think you should redesign your demo / trial to allow people to sign up with way less details, especially not directly asking for card details.
Monitornator looks very promising and I'd love to give it a try. However, there are some issues I can see. Apart from some obvious typos on the homepage (https://share.getcloudapp.com/YE... ; https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQ...) there's no transparent security and privacy information. Your privacy policy is covering only the website usage, but what about the data you are obtaining from the servers? How is the information stored? How is it secured? How may I be sure you won't share it with 3rd parties? That's a showstopper. Also, I wasn't able to find any information on what kind of metrics Monitornator may monitor and display. On the screenshots, I can see CPU, memory. What about other metrics? I am sure these problems may be fixed quickly, so I'll make sure to keep an eye on Monitornator and test it in the future :)
Hey @bartekhejnowicz,
thanks for your feedback! We did some optimisations:
- All data ist stored on servers in Germany, the terms of service reflect that now.
- We do not sell your data to 3rd parties, the terms of service reflect that now.
- What data we get from your servers and store is described on GitHub (https://github.com/monitornator/...). Our monitoring agent is open source.
- The agent currently works on Ubuntu and Debian machines.
- The website now mentions that we're only monitoring load, memory and disk (for now at least), as Monitornator is meant to keep things simple. Response time is in the works btw, but we do not have a timeline for that just yet.
- [edit:] The typos have been fixed.
- Also trial now works without credit card details!
I would be glad if you give Monitornator a try, if you have any further questions or concerns, just drop me a line via email or our contact form!
