Hello Product Hunt Community!
Today is a big day for us - we have been in the Tech space for more than a decade and recruitment + Team Building seems to be the most important problem yet not solved.
We are on a mission to double the Engagement in Workforce in the next 5-10 years.
With Mindpal hiring Talented Engineers is:
⌛ Quicker (in general Talent Pool are way more efficient than job boards)
⚙️ Efficient - as Candidates in the pool are doing a bunch of tests upfront and once
❤️ Focused on personality, human skills, values, and culture-fit (culture-add)
📓 Provides both candidates and hiring manager bigger picture of who they will be working with and what are the recommendations to work together
😊 Fun - as this is a process meant to be fun
With Remote on the grow – Culture, Motivation, and People Skills are more important than ever. Hire Talented Software Engineers who are just like you.
The new challenges in the Talent market are:
- Great Resignation
- Quiet Quitting
- Remote Isolation
It's harder than ever to keep your Team aligned and motivated. We are solving this problem by matching like-minded people that are culturally fit for each other.
Please help us make this journey possible!
@chris_parjaszewski It's also nice that you make it an enjoyable process for both candidates and hiring managers. Thanks for sharing your story with us!
Everyone wants to build fast with talented developers, with a background as a dev agency owner I can say it is incredibly challenging to actually do that hahah. That's why I'm excited for this! Let's gooo
Hey Benny - fast has always been the name of the game in recruitment in Tech. However, with great speed comes a great risk of problems further down the line.
Especially after COVID and with growing remote work - we are working in isolation, from multiple geographies, communication, leadership, management values, and culture-fit (culture-add) are one of the main reasons for projects to end up successful or not.
I love to work with Team Miami! I feel it's nicely diverse, highly motivated, and forward-pushing peers - a pleasure to work with!
To the moon!
@chris_parjaszewski One way to motivate employees in the tech industry is to provide them with opportunities for growth and career advancement. This could include offering training and development programs, promoting from within whenever possible, and giving employees the opportunity to take on new and challenging projects. Additionally, recognizing and rewarding employees for their hard work and achievements can also help to motivate them.
Exciting product! Yet bigger problem to solve ahead.
@chris_parjaszewski@brian_bench
This is another step towards humanizing the recruitment process. Among the broadly understood automation, which is only a tool. This product has a chance to change the whole way of looking at building teams that are missing even in the largest corporations.
@abhishekhawat Employees can be 5-10 more effective when in the right motivation/support situation - all starts with Value-Fit, Culture-Add and Emotional Intelligence
@abhishekhawat@andrzej_krzysztof The goal is to retain the Top Talent and high engagement.
We know that the talent acquisition process needs to be more productive, engaging, and inclusive but still, companies are not compromising on the quality of talent that they are ready to take in!
@abhishekhawat Exciting!
Another simple truths is that developers are in high demand, so you'll need to offer a competitive salary and benefits package to attract top talent.
@rajanwalia4@andrzej_krzysztof
Company culture is important to employees. In a survey by Glassdoor, 77% of respondents said they would consider an organization's culture before applying for a job, and 73% said they wouldn't even apply for a position unless the company's values aligned with their own. This means that employees are already evaluating whether they themselves would fit your company culture.
This is so true, especially for Gen-Z!
@rajanwalia4@andrzej_krzysztof@chris_parjaszewski Gen Z is known for being highly collaborative and open to new ideas. They are often more interested in working in teams and are more willing to listen to the perspectives of others. This can make them well-suited to industries that require collaboration and teamwork.
Overall, Gen Z is bringing a unique set of skills and experiences to the work market, and is likely to have a significant impact on the future of work.
@rajanwalia4 a Taboo topic these days is not considering cultural fit. 🌎 New hire will be spending a lot of time with the team, so it's important that they fit in with company's culture.
Hire someone who shares organization's values and work style, and who will be a good fit with the rest of the team.
Congrats on your launch! I am very exciting for this product.
As I am a full-stack developer, I am now finding a new job, I believe my experience and passion will allow me to be a great asset to this company.
@justyna_grabowska@big_dream1 Simply - don't let your employees turn into mindless drones. Keep them motivated, engaged, and excited about their work with these tips. And remember: a motivated team is a winning team! 😎
@big_dream1 Hey Milan - sure - we are ALWAYS open and helpful to the developers. In a few days, we will also add a more explained workflow for the candidates, where we will better explain the process and the benefits - we have been working with interns, juniors, regulars, seniors, and technical leads for more than a decade now - so everybody at a different stage of his or her career path - and we are considering all of that!
@martyna_krzeczkowska Sounds very exciting. The interesting part are Big Five, Gallup, MBTI and Culture Add tests - should they become a standard, given how important data can be measured using them?
@andrzej_krzysztof In my opinion - definitely, yes! If you work with a person who matches your workflow - it's a pleasure and a win-win for both sides.
@andrzej_krzysztof@martyna_krzeczkowska Emotional intelligence is the ability to identify and regulate one's emotions and understand the emotions the others. A high EQ helps you to build relationships, reduce team stress, defuse conflict and improve job satisfaction.
Hey Martyna - glad to see you engaged with this idea - as the industry grows and changes over various circumstances - it's important to build new tools that will help the ecosystem to adapt accordingly!
@pankaj_gulati@andrzej_krzysztof Developer fatigue occurs when software engineers become tired of programming. Coding is hard work and the brain can only handle it for so many hours at a time.
If managers aren’t careful to assign a variety of interesting work to their remote employees, they might create an environment that causes burnout.
@pankaj_gulati curious how @elonmusk motivates his employees and how he handles recruitment processes from the culture perspective in the current @Twitter situation, hmmm 🤔🤔
@pankaj_gulati@justyna_grabowska oh we should totally release our 1st version to the iOS and macOS App Stores for sure (Android + Windows as well) - hopefully very very soon!
Interesting product and challenging mission. More happy workers, fewer resignations, less stress, less business losses on re-hiring and so on. Good luck! :)
@mujaji I am also in love in the Mission itself here! 🙄🙄
Ultimately, keeping employees happy and motivated in the tech industry requires a combination of approaches, using multiple techniques and best practices.
Leaders - by providing opportunities for growth, recognizing and rewarding hard work, and creating a positive and inclusive work environment, can help to ensure your team is engaged, motivated, and committed to the success of their organization.
So leaders bear heavy burden here, they should be supported. Maybe by AI of some sort? 🤖 🤖
@mujaji exactly - I love the way you've explained it and put it together, very useful :) Thank you for your voice of confidence and welcome to the Mindpal Family!
@mujaji There are several steps that organizations can take to prevent stress and resignations among their employees:
- culture
- work-life balance
- providing resources for stress-management
- fluent communication
- discuss problems when they occur
- reward and give back
As a person well-oriented in the tech industry and its issues, I find Mindpal as a tool that can not only speed up the process of finding the right dev for your project, but also make the company-dev relation more valuable, which will for sure make the outcome much more satisfactory for both sides.
@mike_paluch Employees who fit in well with your company perform better.
They are more likely to be team players, as they work better with others and boost team morale.
@mike_paluch@andrzej_krzysztof The world is getting more remote, more international, more diverse - make sure you hire the right people for your Team using Personality and Emotional Intelligence Assessment Frameworks
@mike_paluch I love the speed component - as in the end of the day - market expectations are that the demands needs to meet supply ideally ASAP - so any solution that brings down waiting time seems important
@puneet_kohli we have been in the industry for ~1.5 decades now so we have already secured solid partnerships and synergies, but as we advance we will be launching models that are not just B2B but also B2C as the lessons learned with big guys can be re-deployed in a more democratic way with multiple business models (likely all that you've mentioned).
Also - from the developers' perspective - we never had any boundaries - so they are free to apply today as well :)
@puneet_kohli as I am aware, some of our competitors, say Turning, Lecim or Gun are either sharing some monthly retainer including the payroll and stuff or they charge a one-time hiring success fee.
We can discuss the exact numbers, but our goal is to be your long-term partner to also make sure there's happiness for you and the developer - so hope to run some frequent surveys and basically be your embedded HR partner that
At least that's the vision, but happy to get feedback and improve - as we're often ideating and improving our product with our great community!
@chris_parjaszewski I guess I was just shooting straight and asking -- do you work on a retainer model, or a subscription model. If I understand from your answer, it's open for discussion?
@cparjaszewski@mary_joy_maquiling The world is getting more remote, more international, more diverse - make sure you hire the right people for your Team using Personality and Emotional Intelligence Assessment Frameworks
@cparjaszewski@mary_joy_maquiling@andrzej_krzysztof@chris_parjaszewski In the context of work, these tests can be valuable because they can provide employers with objective information about a candidate's suitability for a particular job. For example, a psychometric test may be used to measure a candidate's cognitive abilities, such as their numerical, verbal, and spatial reasoning skills. This can help employers to identify candidates who are well-suited to jobs that require these abilities. Additionally, psychometric tests can be used to assess a candidate's personality traits, such as their level of extroversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. This can help employers to identify candidates who are likely to be a good fit with the company's culture and the specific requirements of the job. Overall, psychometric tests can provide valuable information that can help employers to make more informed hiring decisions.
@veex another idea is to create a positive and inclusive workplace, you can help to improve morale and foster a sense of belonging among given team. 🤝👬👭
@veex it's a step by step process, but yes - by taking a holistic approach and addressing a range of factors, organizations can help to prevent stress and resignations among their employees.
I have waited it for a long while. It's such a great product for HR over the world to find the best suitable candidates for their team. Hope VISSOFT be apart of it. Congrats @chris_parjaszewski and team!
@stephen_ta Yes - we are very bullish to work with Talents from all around the world, Vietnam is very exciting and fast-growing and tons of skilled engineers there - I believe working together we can create a recommendation list of how to work with different geographies and different cultures - as at the end of the day - we are one big Family!
@chris_parjaszewski@stephen_ta I'm very bullish on Vietnam and entire South-East Asia Region - there's so much talent and great culture in that region - we should definitely build bridges and learn from each other!
The idea seems great. I have only one concern about the use of personality tests. You should approach this with care and professionalism and only use ones that are reliable. If you like, we can talk about it someday.
@emzap By providing employees with opportunities to learn and develop their skills, you can help them to feel more engaged and motivated in their work. 🧠💪🏼
@emzap exactly - this is why so many players have done NOTHING - which is also bad - cause the HR Tech Industry is soooo focused on the hard skills, nothing else - but you are right, we are definitely keeping privacy in mind and the #1 rule has always been to be walking on the legal framework ground - good point!
@emzap sure - as test is simply a set of questions and answers - so it's important to make sure they are securely stored and only selected information are presented to the decisions makers
@emzap too many people in the Tech Industry these day haven't done any personality tests at all and that's a shame - as we are so different among each other.
@chris_parjaszewski@liana_grigorian1 By showing engineers that their efforts are appreciated and valued, you can help to boost their morale and motivation. 🏆💰
@liana_grigorian1 a great comparison is a matchmaker, that considers the happiness and benefits of both sides - so yes - a good and experienced matchmaker can see more than just one step ahead - based on what he/she observed in past matchmaking stories :)
Having said that - we will be for sure feedback and data-driven, so every new match will be higher in quality.
@richard_gao2 Yes - remote work has brought us into a new era, there are many great benefits and also new challenges to face like isolation - so we definitely need new tools and habits in place
@richard_gao2 exactly - the world is becoming more and more remote, so we need tools to foster our connections, we need to build bridges and set ambitious goals ahead
