Mileways shows you all relevant flight information in real time and sends you notifications about important updates. It’s the easiest way to stay updated with your friends & family.
Good morning everyone, I’m Yannick the designer behind Mileways! After months of hard work and a complete rewrite, Mileways 4 is now available in the App Store!
Flying can and should be comfortable. Instead, in times like these, we travel with uncertainty and anxiety. We think we can do better. We have identified the problems faced by many air travelers and translated them into a modern, contemporary user experience, finally creating the a flight tracker that will meet all your needs.
Flight information can be overwhelming. Airport information, travel times, flight numbers and hey, another gate change... It’s easy to lose track of everything, especially if you travel regularly. Reduced to the essential and most important and delivered to you at the right time — the information provided by Mileways will always be relevant and accurate. You can have your peace of mind.
As the travel date approaches, any oh so small information around a flight becomes all the more important. Is my flight delayed? Is there a time difference? What will the weather be like? All this information is just a tap away.
The closer the date of the next departure gets, the more important the relevant information becomes. It’s stressful enough at the airport, so you should at least be able to rely on reliable flight updates. From gate changes to flight cancellations — with Mileways, notifications are accurate to the second.
They say that our social connections define our level of happiness and longevity.
Finally you have a flight tracker that considers the local aspect of your life. Whether friends, family or colleagues — we care.
Automatically available in your feed and keeping you up to date. No more messages like “Send me your flight details” or “My flight is delayed!” And in case you have a flight you don’t want to announce, you can choose who can see your data with a quick tap on the privacy settings.
Feel free to reach out with any comments, questions or thoughts. We’re curious to hear what you think!
@denis_andrasec@yannicklu I saw that on the front page and I can't figure out why you'd need a sign to greet people you know at the airport? isn't the point of those signs to help an incoming traveler who doesn't know what you look like?
@denis_andrasec@jordankrueger I completely understand your point, but we have made the observation that especially with friends and family, welcome signs are particularly emotionally weighted and add to the whole situation of the long-awaited reunion. Our research has shown that they often come as an unexpected surprise, as the traveller is not expecting such a greeting.
This app looks beautiful and useful, but this signup process feels broken. Here's all the problems I've had so far:
1. No Apple ID signup/sign-in (or Google, etc. for that matter). Would have made all the rest of these issues not a problem.
2. When I input a random password from 1Pass, I got the error that there was a max length of 20 characters! Why? If you're going to require people to put in a password, why in the world wouldn't you just let them use complex, randomly generated passwords of whatever length they want?
3. After the first attempt to sign up where I got the error about the password – which borked me for adding this to 1Pass (I had to exit the app, change my 1Pass settings for this record, then start the signup process over), I couldn't ever get Mileways app to allow me to paste in a password to the password field in the singup flow. Despite having the password in my iPhone's clipboard, I couldn't get the "paste" option to pop up again.
@jordankrueger Thanks a lot for the feedback, Jordan! Sign in with Apple will soon be available with an update—it's high on our list! Regarding the other points, I have already included them so that we can address those as well.
Again, thanks a lot for the feedback, we're always open to hear what you think and what we can improve!
