by

Memo.fm makes it easy for podcast listeners to send you voice messages. Instead of asking them to call a voicemail number or email you audio files, send them to your unique memo.fm link

?makers Love the simplicity. Feature suggestion: Trust that when the amount of submissions reach a certain point, it will take too much time to skim through. Would be great for the podcast hosts to have the submitted audio transcribed as well.

@ipears Thanks! Yeah it's so much easier to skim text than audio so this is a great suggestion and is on the roadmap

@ipears great suggestion! With so many text to speech tools existing, this should be an easy one for @ramykhuffash :)

Hey Product Hunt Memo.fm is for podcasters who want to hear from their listeners Currently, a lot of podcasts ask listeners to call a voicemail number or send them audio files with feedback or questions that they can answer in future episodes Calling a voicemail number can be expensive depending on where you're calling from (and the audio on phone calls isn't great). Emailing audio files involves too many steps. Memo.fm is an alternative that's simpler for you and your listeners. Create a memorable memo.fm link for your podcast (e.g. memo.fm/yourpodcast), share it with listeners, then they can use it to record and send you audio messages from any device. Try it out here: https://memo.fm/small-efforts/ This has been on my idea list for a while and a couple of weeks ago I decided to build it in public on Twitter (https://twitter.com/ramykhuffash...) I'll be around all day to answer questions

Brilliantly simple utility. There’s something charmingly nostalgic about what this facilitates. 21st century fan mail. Just need a podcast and audience now 😂

@mtrostyle Thanks, Bardi! Do you have a podcast in the works?

Such an easy way to remove the friction, @ramykhuffash! And audio feedback, questions, reviews etc do make sense for a podcast... I can image a number of podcasters downloading the audio files, compiling, and answering the questions in the next podcast. Just checked your tweet... remarkable! Product Hunt launch has to be the ultimate finishing line for a product's #BuildInPublic journey. Looking forward to more such projects from you :)

@adityavsc Thank you! Getting listener questions and playing the audio in future episodes is indeed the best use case for this Thanks for checking out the Twitter thread too. This was my first time properly building in public and it's been really fun. This launch is a huge milestone, but hopefully not the finishing line as I want to continue improving & iterating in public

Reminds me of when we took listener calls for Product Hunt Radio using a Google Voice number. Oddly, very few actually called in. Maybe the CTA wasn't strong enough or dialing a number was inconvenient.

@rrhoover I think dialling a number can be inconvenient, especially for listeners from other countries I also think that as with any medium, most people are happy consuming without participating, so most people won't call in. As a podcast addict, I still think it's valuable to give listeners a way to get involved and I always enjoy listener question segments. Memo.fm is priced assuming that most podcasters won't get many voice messages, but see enough value in the few they do get.
