Dear Product Hunters, We are Peter and Richard, makers of Memo. Email is too formal and texting + instant message is getting distracting. It's hard to have deep and meaningful conversations online with the people we care about. Memo brings modern features to long-form messaging to achieve this. We are massively inspired by Cal Newport's Digital Minimalism and wanted to solve this problem of distracting communication tech and 'thin connections' in texting. Memo therefore promotes really valuable conversations with your closest people in a way that enriches your life and doesn't send you into a spin of distractions. You can dive into Memo for free today and write to anyone using their email address. Organise a road-trip, connect with good friends or catch up with family using Memo's conversation enriching features that help focus on the conversation and avoid distractions. For teams and professionals, Memo's thesis has even greater value in terms of workplace productivity and helping you have high quality conversations with your colleagues and advisors. Checkout the highlighted questions feature - your questions will no longer go unanswered! Memo was born ~ 6 months ago because Peter and I were both frustrated by communication tools on offer. We feel we have built something that better serves our needs and along the way have found that others love it too. So, today, we are excited to share Memo with you and hope that you get a lot of love from it too.

Replying to questions on Memo is the best experience on any email client I’ve ever had!☺️
Peter Saxton
@kevinchandra Thanks Kevin. We've tried a lot of features while experimenting with Memo and this one is so simple yet way more effective than we ever could have hoped when starting off.

I love the explicit questions and replies feature. Super handy for ensuring that needs addressing is addressed, cutting down on back-and-forth emails.

Ok, I think you have a great idea but I don’t understand something 🤷🤭 why did Memo say that my message will be delivered later? Is it deliberate? 🤔🙂 Good luck!👍
Peter Saxton
@filip_kokoszynski Yes it's deliberate, We want to ensure that Memo optimises for async conversation. if something needs a reply immediately it should be in a different channel.

Congrats on the launch Richard and Peter!

Are there instructions anywhere? I created a group, but it doesn't have any people in it and it's not clear how to add any.
Nathan Lively
@iamhuman108 Ok, thanks. So the steps are 1. Message each person independently to add them to the app. 2. Create the group. Somehow I was able to create a group with no people/contacts, which was confusing. Also, I tried messaging support a few times and never heard back. This seems like a really cool idea, but I'm struggling to make it work.

Google Wave!
Peter Saxton
@chrismessina Never used Google Wave, but I've looked into it. Wasn't Google Wave innovative because of it's live update features. Memo's much more chill than that. We focus on async and only send notifications an hour after the message is written.

It was also designed to be decentralized, but I take your point!
