This looks pretty cool for some communities. But unfortunately I think it may be a bit pricey for most. Although this may help weed out the better quality communities which are looking to invest in growing themselves and stand out.

Thanks @bentossell! Our basic plan is only $59/month, making it affordable for small businesses and even non-profits. Since the product was designed for brands, we developed features for monetization so that they can segment and target their audiences and actually earn money with the community. The brands truly own their communities and can take advantage of our tools to bring in advertising, sponsorship, and more.

Thanks @bentossell! Love to hear more comments from you and learn. Key feature is the content matching system, it’s the real differentiator here. Creating a targeted and personalized experience for each community member is the only way to retain membership, maximize engagement and monetize the brand's relationship efforts.

@bentossell I agree that most small business are not used to pay for their community platform. But It's just an illusion. Managing a successful FB page costs you much more over time.

Everyone is talking about the limits of organic reach of existing social media platforms for brands. Memeni has created a white-label solution giving brands the ability to build their own customizable peer-to-peer communities that they wholly own, and exists under their domain, rather than under other third party social media platforms.

Everything that can help my clients get out of their dependency on Facebook is welcomed

Hey Product Hunters!! Huge thanks to @ayeletnoff for hunting us! I’m Adam, Co-Founder of Memeni. We created Memeni to give businesses the ability to create a community where they can deliver much greater value to their audiences, beyond just promoting their products and services. Businesses that use Memeni receive a peer-to-peer online community in seconds that integrates with their existing website and social media. This becomes their new hub through which they communicate with the world and push information to social media channels. Today’s standard, where companies are investing in platforms that they don’t own, where they can’t even reach their audiences is not a long term solution. Brands need to start investing in themselves and building out this long-term asset. We’ve invested a great deal in features that boost member engagement and retention. An advanced matching system connects posts in the community with the most relevant members, maximizing relevance and minimizing unwanted notifications. Businesses have at their disposal tools to launch competitions, raise funds, create listings, post events, and much more. We’re also super excited to announce that we’re in the late stages of developing our mobile application so that each community will also have it’s own branded downloadable mobile app for iOS and Android. Our early customers have been enterprises, small businesses, universities, large facebook groups, and even cities. Checkout the City of Tel Aviv’s Startup Community here: Memeni.com/TelAvivStartupCity We’ve also launched our own community where we can all discuss the latest marketing trends: Memeni.com/RelationshipMarketing Thanks for your support! Feel free to shoot us your questions and feedback.

$495 per month to get a custom web domain... let's talk properly.. why wouldn't I Xenforo?
Adam Fogel
Great question @roamlocally. I'm not a Xenforo expert but they appear to be a great tool for creating forums. Memeni's solution is different in it addresses the brand's needs as a business. It enables brands to segment and target their audiences, leverage tools such as challenges to promote growth and engagement, integrates with the brand's existing assets, and even provides them with a branded mobile application. Your feedback regarding the custom web domain is great and we'll definitely consider including that feature in the lower pricing tiers as well.

Would Memeni work for creating a customer feedback channel? Or a place to take/feature requests? Thinking about how to draw customers into a proprietary community.
Revital Hendler
@kkdub Memeni is a great way to do that! Feedback and innovation from your community is one of the greatest things you can bring to both your brand and your customers.
Adam Fogel
Hi @kkdub.. Memeni would be a great solution for customer feedback and crowdsourced innovation. In addition to having product discussions you can also use our Challenges feature to create competitions and have people submit their best ideas. This type of viral tool will help draw customers into the community. Also, members that join your community can add tags to their profiles to highlight their skills.. that way a member that's skilled in "UX Design" would receive different notifications than a member that's skilled in "Product Marketing." Feel free to send me an email if you'd like to setup a Skype and discuss in greater detail adam@memeni.com

Looks great. I love the point of owning your community in oppose to FB which you kind of 'rent' attention. Also there's no barrier for your audience to communicate with one another - that's lacking in other options. What is the long term goal? To add features for communities or expand to other areas?

Be the owner of my online community, i like that. will give it a try
Yair Kivaiko
Looks amazing! I will give it a go for sure. Just what I needed
Naor Sanilevici
Absolutely love the customer onboarding process. Creating a new community with just a Facebook page is magic!

i like the idea of creating a community instead of just managing a page, makes talking with customers be a dialog instead of a monolog..

I love the idea of owning the land you build upon, but I run into the same hesitation with this that I feel with standalone/owned forum software - how do I get my users to switch from Facebook to my community? What's the long-term "stickiness" of something like this? Facebook is such a part of people's everyday lives, they're on it because all of their communities are already there, am I just fighting an uphill battle trying to win people's attention from the behemoth that is Facebook? I can't help but feel this would have some good initial traction, then fade away as everyone sinks back into their routines of hanging out on Facebook. So what's the secret? How do your community leaders compete for attention?
Alec Jaffe
@chrisgscott we have developed an integration which allows you to share your community's content to your Facebook page. This helps convert the Facebook audience that you've already built up, and keeps your community top of mind when they see exciting content from your community in their Facebook feed. We don't want you to get rid of Facebook. We think Facebook is a great tool to expose your brand to a large audience. We want you to be able to to take the people that you would convert to "likes" on Facebook, and bring them to a place where you can actually capture the value of that audience. We're giving you the opportunity to use Facebook as a channel to advertise your content for you, while retaining the ownership and value of your content in your community.

Two things I really like about this --- one is the consolidation of so many channels into a manageable platform --- and the other..... THE STYLING! Looks great -- I will be trying this out if I can get my team on board -- may just do it anyway... nice work
Alec Jaffe
@samir_doshi Thanks! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

I've enjoyed participating in the "Americas-Israel Innovation" community. It's great to have a network of like-minded businesses collaborating here.
