Hey Hunters! My name is Konstantin, co-founder of Mailbob. I was really disappointed when Twitter shut down Revue a few years ago, it was by far one of the best and simplest newsletter platforms around. I've used it for most of my content projects and I loved it. That was around the time I started thinking of building an alternative, one that would carry on some of Revue's values, most notably its simplicity. Then, with the Chimp's announcement of their TinyLetter shutdown, the "thinking" quickly became "doing" so we started building Mailbob – a simple newsletter platform for personal brands and small businesses. To celebrate our Product Hunt launch, we're granting an additional 2000 monthly emails permanently. Use the PH2000 coupon to redeem the bonus. Works on both paid and free plans. Enjoy!

@kovshenin Hey Konstantin, I am launching our newsletter soon. was curious to know how do you flare against Beehiiv kind of platform and any specific advantages that you offer. Asking cause we have zeroed on to it.
Konstantin Kovshenin
@imraju Thanks for your comment Raju, I think Beehiv is a great option and their editing experience is quite simple and spot on as well! It's hard to go up against their feature list as they've been around for ages and seem to tick every possible box, however being small and young we do have the advantage of moving quicker and working closer with our early adopters to solve the problems they're facing, rather than just shipping new features. We're also, very much likely, going to have the best WordPress integration (given our history and expertise), but I am a bit biased, so we'll just have to wait until we actually ship that :) Thanks again for your support!

@kovshenin Really appreciate your response Konstantine. Sometimes startups need to make a difference in their post sales to make their mark. I am sure Mailbob does that. I will surely consider trying Mailbob for my other newsletter.

Congrats on launching. Looking forward to seeing you grow where the likes of Revue left a gap. Good luck today!
Konstantin Kovshenin
@paul_metcalfe hey Paul, thank you so much for your support and some of the insights you've shared with me earlier!
Bob WIlsey
Great! Always needed an extensive newsletter platform! Surely going to try this

Congratulations on launching Mailbob! It's awesome to see a new player stepping up to fill the void left by Revue and TinyLetter.
Konstantin Kovshenin
@kaka_muia What a nice and original comment. Thank you! ^_^
Gennady Kovshenin
@kaka_muia thanks for your support. Hope you have a chance to try Mailbob out ;)

Great job on launching Mailbob. It's really good and constantly growing. I'm almost certain it might become the better Substack.
Gennady Kovshenin
@maciej_palmowski Thank you for your kind words of support and encouragement. We're quite far off from Substack, but with enough luck, hard work and patience, I think we stand a solid chance, too ;)

I've known Konstantin for 15 years and we've worked on community projects together in different capacities over the years. He's one of the sharpest software engineers and product leads I've ever met. I reviewed Mailbob recently and we're planning two migrations from a reputable CRM and an ESP charging 10X more for a couple of email blasts or maintaining a steady archive of existing users and subscribers. We consider this a great niche proposition for several use cases whereas the popular choices get optimized toward community or daily blasts at premium tiers.
Konstantin Kovshenin
@no_fear_inc thank you for the kind words Mario, means a lot coming from you!

@kovshenin good luck, really excited about growing this one

Congratulations on the launch of Mailbob, Konstantin! It's fantastic to see your dedication to filling the gap left by platforms like Revue and TinyLetter. As someone who relied on Revue for my content projects, I'm thrilled to hear about Mailbob's focus on simplicity. Great work!
Konstantin Kovshenin
@prateekkapoor Thank you Prateek, please do get in touch if you're missing any features or something is not working quite the way you expect it to!
Sarp Oktay
Looks really cool and straightforward to use! Looking forward to trying it out for my next email campaign. Upvoted - best of luck with your launch.

Always name a product after Bob. Who doesn't like Bob?
Konstantin Kovshenin
@kingromstar Yeah, I'd name both my kids Bob if they weren't girls.

Looking forward to see what a team with your level of experience comes up with next @kovshenin . Just one question, is the platform GDPR compliant? And no, this comment wasn’t written by ChatGPT. I just had it translated because English isn't my first language 😁. PH has really turned into a dumping ground for AI-generated comments.
Konstantin Kovshenin
@duniachap thanks for the kind words Dunia! The platform itself is GDPR and CAN-SPAM compliant, and we do our best to keep it that way by working with email service providers and keeping an open abuse reports/feedback channels. We do currently enforce double-optin for all subscriptions (except imports and manual admin adds) regardless of which country the user is subscribing from, or where the account owner based. We might add more granular privacy controls in the future if customers ask us to.
Lynden Evans
Congrats on product launch. Looking forward to seeing the growth of bob as the strongest alternative of twitter. Good luck today!
Konstantin Kovshenin
@lynden_evans Thank you Lynden, sure we'll take on Twitter while we're at it as well, why not? ^_^
Lynden Evans
@kovshenin, thank you for your response. I completely agree with you. It's unfortunate that I missed the chance to join your team in its early stages.
💡 Bright idea
This is a well-thought-out and very well-designed product. I'm just going to sign up. If possible: 1. The URL for individual subdomains can be user.mailbob.com. This is a lot better, tbh. 2. Free version is great but Publish a demo newsletter so that we can see what "design" changes we'd be getting on paid plans.
Konstantin Kovshenin
@wpgaurav Thanks Gaurav, those are great requests! 1. We'll definitely consider this, though we're going to support custom domains soon, so users will be able to bring their own domains for the subscription forms and sending domain. 2. We've recently unlocked all our current design options for all plans, so it's the same customization options for both free and paid plans right now. We'll likely introduce some additional options for paid plans in the future, and will definitely think of a way to preview these without having to pay first. Thanks again and have a lovely weekend!
Alex Dulub
Hey Konstantin, It's great to see someone step up to fill the void left by Revue and TinyLetter. Simplicity in a newsletter platform is definitely key for engaging with audiences effectively. Congratulations on the launch of Mailbob! The additional monthly emails are a generous touch. How did you ensure the user experience stayed simple while incorporating all the necessary features? All the best!
Konstantin Kovshenin
@alex_dulub Thanks for your comment Alex, looks like ChatGPT generated this one as well, but I'll answer anyway. > How did you ensure the user experience stayed simple while incorporating all the necessary features? Mostly by cutting down on the "necessary" features.

Launching soon!
Mailbob sounds like a promising solution for newsletter creators, especially after the disappointment of platforms like Revue and TinyLetter shutting down. Its focus on simplicity and user-friendly features is exactly what many content creators need. Plus, the bonus 2000 monthly emails for Product Hunt launch is a generous offer. Looking forward to seeing Mailbob in action!
Konstantin Kovshenin
@jonwesselink thanks for the kind words and support Jon!

Does it support RTL?
Konstantin Kovshenin
@itaih To some extent probably, though we haven't done an testing/development specifically for RTL unfortunately. We'll be happy to work more on that, as well as bring other languages to the dashboard too. Thanks for bringing this up!

Great UX and is super easy to use. It's obvious that the team really spent some time making these payment plans. I've had a quick chat today with @kovshenin within the dashboard. I think this is a winner!
