how is a flash-based product that makes it easier for any random person replace a designer at the top of Product Hunt - a site that is regularly visited by designers and technologists lol this is so trashy ya'll for real design has gotten so much further than this
@saevant I think the reason it's so highly upvoted is because it's interesting (and that's about it). There is absolutely NO WAY that this product will replace a professional designer. This is just as bad as using MS Paint to design your logo or brand.
@irvingtorresyc@saevant but no one realizes that man they think they r fucking smart even the billionaires starting businesses on here dont be naive bruh
Thanks for the upvotes and feedback today. We can't disagree with the criticisms. In fact, we have a new logo maker in test (bye bye flash) and can't wait to stretch its legs. We'll post updates for continued feedback. Thanks again!
@saevant@tomfeary whoa uncalled for. Even if you don't like it, these guys worked hard at this-- no need to be rude. EDIT: Saevant, if you're gonna edit the things you say so you look like less of an asshole, you should mention how heavily you edited them. Also, don't post stuff that you don't want to stand by.
You need a logo for a side project, landing page, startup here you go. Remember folks that not everybody has the cash to have one do at the pro level. This gives you a working tool to try out an idea
I'm convinced someone is gaming Product Hunt voting today. These "create awesome things in minutes" products never never never work and they just waste time. Tbh it pisses me off and points to more of the instant gratification culture. Great things, that last over long periods of time, UN-ironically, TAKE TIME.
Probably better to get one of these logos designed by an actual designer, for free, if you want a quick placeholder, it's faster and the quality is higher -> https://www.producthunt.com/tech...
This product tops at performance. Yes! pretty fast and loaded shaped are pretty variety in numbers.
But this is more like icon generator / composer rather than logo maker. As far as its FREE we cannot blame on its UI / options it provide to sculpt professional logo.
Surely this will help business folks to arrive at basic logo versions they wish to get it with better visualization.
Love their categories and stacked options of icons. !
As a designer, I definitely find this a bad taste for someone who just wants a cheap logo fast. All the samples were just not good. Though I have been seeing more of these services popping up, these are potentially small stepping stones to something even better in the near future. It's kind of scary.
@julianlozanoaz couldnt agree more... email any designer student with $50 on paypal and get a real logo with craft and love in it if ur gonna fucking use clip art and gradients and system fonts use ur word processor and watch it all tank lol
The problem with this and a couple of other similar tools I've seen pop up on here is the quality of assets. A few people liken them to clip art and I can see why. Not everyone needs (or can afford) a high end bespoke logo. Imo there needs to be an alternative offered that sits between free products like this, and higher end custom solutions.
