I am a software engineer at Google and I constantly use this tool known as CodeSearch at Google and I am a big fan of the product. insight.io seems to be expanding this concept to repositories on GitHub in general, pretty impressive work!

Pros:

code search made it so much easier to navigate through your code!

Cons:

waiting for more support on PHP

Insight.io is so far the best way I have found to read code on GitHub, for both public and private projects.

Pros:

Super easy to use. Seamless integration with GitHub.

Cons:

None at this point. Looking forward to more features!

How does it work with private repos?

@grgazmy Hey George, to import your private repos, you have to visit our main app in https://insight.io. Login with your github account and visit https://insight.io/account/projects page, from where you can import your private repos.

@grgazmy or if you just want to enable the directory tree, just go to the settings tab of the sidebar, create a personal access token on github and paste to there and save. Visit this page to learn how to create a github personal token https://help.github.com/articles...

There is a bug in sign up email confirmation process. Which won't let you in.

Hi Nishant, sorry for the inconvenience, our mail server had some issue due to the large traffic we received but it is fixed now and you should receive the the confirmation email correctly. You can also try to login with your GitHub account which requires no email confirmation. Let us know if you are still experiencing issues:)

Very cool and beautifully executed. However, why not git pull and edit in a real ide? I'm just asking because as nice services can be, they can fall in between use cases, and I hope this won't happen to you.
