Ignition GTM (Beta) - Automate your launch process and build better launch plans

Ignition helps PMM and PM teams launch more effectively, save time on planning, and create more internal alignment. It uses best practice-based workflows to predict product timelines, dynamically recommend plans, and centralize plans/tasks/assets/measurement.

Hey Product Hunt folks! Excited (and a little nervous!) to finally share Ignition with you all 😬 Everyone who’s ever been through a launch process knows they’re painful... As both a former PMM and PM, I’ve suffered through too many to count. The inspiration for Ignition came when I was managing 10+ product lines at Rippling and drowning in launches. I explored every tool and template out there, but they were all too generalized and static. I realized they’d help me track the work, but not do much to help me actually *do* it. 🧐 Problem: Launches are messy (obviously), but more specifically: * Stakeholder alignment — to keep teams (who each need different sub-sets of the plan) informed and on-track, PMMs/PMs have to maintain countless decks, meetings, and status emails. * Shifting timelines — product timelines constantly shift → PMMs get told too late → everyone gets stuck scrambling to react. * Fragmentation — PMMs are constantly jumping between different teams’ tools. Docs, decks, asset storage, project management, communication... It’s incredibly hard to find info and track status. * Skill/bandwidth limitations — PMMs/PMs are overworked and either forget to, aren’t sure how to, or don’t have time to tackle important planning steps like pricing research. 🎉 Solution: A dedicated GTM platform for PMMs/PMs, which not only helps you document and present plans in super digestible fashion, but also actually execute the work and build better plans. There’s a lot more in the video above 😊. Hopefully Ignition helps some of you out ❤️. Eventually, we really want to build some specialized tools for helping launch on Product Hunt too! Would love to hear what you think! P.S. as a special bonus for Product Hunt members, we're giving the first 100 paid accounts 90% off for their first year! Hey @ozbad03 congrats on the launch!!! Couple of thoughts and questions below. On the site it says you guys are replacing Asana, Dropbox, etc. Any chance that you will eventually integrate those apps into the system? I think your product is great and has a lot of potential, but switching from one platform to another (especially when (example) Asana has been around for so long) and people hesitate the move to a proprietary (all-in-one) platform. If you have any insight on future plans around that, I would love to hear it. I am currently building a product-based agency and this tool could be great for us, but we have already jumped into asana (since that's where all of my other businesses/work lives). Thanks in advance and congrats on the launch.
Derek Osgood
@zbijelic Absolutely! Tbh we've been meaning to pull that language off the site and clarify this a bit... We 100% view these kinds of tools as more friends than enemies -- we actually ALREADY integrate with Asana and let you sync tasks back and forth (it's super easy to just use an entire Asana project and overwrite all of our tasks if you want). We plan to integrate with Dropbox super soon as well. Ultimately, we'd actually rather fit into your existing workflow via integration rather than ask you to rip & replace everything. We have a huge integration roadmap -- today we integrate with Jira, Linear, Productboard, and Roadmunk on the product roadmap side + Asana, Wrike, Clickup, Monday on the project management side. We'll be integrating with a lot more in each bucket soon, as well as adding integrations for launch measurement (Segment, Mixpanel, Google Analytics, etc.) and asset management (Dropbox, Box, etc.). We have a bunch of plans down the road to integrate with publishing tools like social media scheduling and marketing automation as well.

@ozbad03 This tool looks exciting, good luck! I like the smooth design. Switching a PM tool is definitely challenging, so I'll be looking forward to those integrations and I'll give it a test before our next launch. :)
Derek Osgood
@stefani_kovachevska thanks! And absolutely -- let us know if there's any particularly high-priority ones you want and we'll bump them up the list :). We should have Measurement integrations in place by mid/late-Feb, as well as a few more PM/PMO tools.
Stefani Kovachevska
@ozbad03 Awesome, we currently use Shortcut for PM, Mailchimp for communications and HeyOrca for SM management.

Superb. I am curious to read more about your own story of "using Ignition to launch Ignition". Areas it worked as you wanted, areas you were pleasantly surprised with, and areas you found as opportunities to do even better.
Derek Osgood
@aksgoel I love this question (because I've been asking it myself daily)! Worked as expected: - Most of the documentation and roadmapping stuff worked great -- was really easy to write the plan and map out our activity, as well as present it with the team. - Having a single dashboard with product and GTM status was a lifesaver and made it so much easier for me to keep my head around what was going on on both sides of the house. I expected that to be awesome and it was. Pleasantly surprised: - Our task management was surprisingly great. We use Linear for eng work and I'm a fanboy of theirs, but I didn't have any problem flipping over to Ignition for project management around launches, and it was nice not to have my own tasks interspersed with the eng team's anymore. - Related, I *loved* having task due dates all pre-fill for me. I hadn't realized how much time I was wasting on inputting due dates before. - Some of the AI copywriting and plan generation felt way nicer than I expected, despite still being in early form. It's going to be really nice when we have some more advanced logic in place and coverage across more launch/asset types. Opportunities: - Our copy/assets module needs some usability work; the biggest issue being just that showing them in card format takes up too much screen real estate to quickly triage them, so we need to add a more compact list view (coming next week!). - Our modular sharing needs more work -- I found myself really wanting recurring updates (which we're building this month), and more importantly, a preview of the message that's going out that I could edit. Doing a big pass on this in January. - The lack of post-launch measurement (aside from manually tracking in a table) is kind of killing me, now that we're live... We're working on that though for Feb. - I want to be able to view things fullscreen and not have the comments section open as a gutter at all times, just so I have more real-estate for horizontal views.

Hope you dogfooded it for this launch :). Congrats ?makers!
Derek Osgood
@scott_hanford You know it! We're going to open-source our launch plan for this as soon as we launch the dynamic templates for new-company launches. Future "Ignition for Founders" product incoming!

This looks great for a team working on many products - in the automotive world this is a big problem as well but mainly due to the length and complexity of a smaller number of products and derivatives. How do you think this would scale for teams with complex products and projects rather than teams with (what it sounds like from your background) many less complex products (ie than a car)?
Derek Osgood
@simon_barker1 Great question! Yeah totally -- complex physical goods are definitely a more complicated process. However, it's not that different from launching at PlayStation (where there's both a hardware and software component, and both retail and digital distribution). Ultimately I think that complexity comes in two forms... 1) a bigger launch consisting of many sub-launches, and 2) just the sheer number of moving parts (tasks/assets/channels/stakeholders/etc.). For (2) -- we scale very well to that. We have a lot of nesting and grouping functionality for things like tasks and assets (with more on the way soon), so you can manage launches that get pretty "big" easily. For (1) -- we don't handle that super well yet. However, sometime in Q2 we plan to launch a "nested launches" feature which will allow for supporting launches-within-launches such as country launches beneath a master global launch, or different campaign launches tied to a macro product launch.
Simon Barker
@ozbad03 interesting and thanks for the reply. I showed this to my wife who manages this kind of thing for automotive and she said “looks great, if it can do teams of teams, and manage sub system releases and gateways this would be really good” it’s a niche area though, there aren’t that make OEM car companies in the world but if the product naturally goes that way I can see her introducing it at her place. Congrats on the launch, I missed that in my first comment 😳
Derek Osgood
@simon_barker1 Amazing, appreciate the feedback :). Yeah I think by mid-way through the year we should support that use case pretty well -- will give some extra attention to OEM manufacturing once we circle around to user research on nested launches. Tell her to check back in a couple months!

Looks very useful and well designed. Will definitely try this out for our next feature launch. Thanks for sharing Derek and best of luck for the launch!
Derek Osgood
@pedrobh Excited to have you aboard Pedro! Thanks so much for the support :)
Patrick Srail
Super useful for both product marketers and product managers. I feel like most tools are designed for the development stage and often overlook the part where you actually launch to users.
Derek Osgood
@patricksrail 100%! Lots of folks end up just hacking it together, which super brittle and makes it hard to repeatably execute. Thanks so much for the insight and support :)
Aaryan
This looks so cool. Definitely going to try it!
Paul K Saunders
Looks extremely interesting and I wish you success
Derek Osgood
@vikas_reddy1 @pksaunders Probably the best analogue is Productboard (but for Product Marketing teams) -- roadmapping + project management, with some baked in tools that help you actually *do* the work in the project (which is possible because we're verticalizing around the specific use case of product launch / GTM).
Michael White
Love this! Beats the heck out of endless spreadsheets and working docs and status update emails and sync meetings.
Derek Osgood
@mwwhite 😁 our unofficial internal mantra is "death to the weekly launch meeting!"
Jenny Romano
Very relevant product, especially for startups and scale-ups from my point of view. Congratulations on the launch @ozbad03 @karthik_suresh2
