Hello Product Hunters! Hello Tab is a chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with random thoughts from others. You can use it to anonymously share a thought or simply get inspired by other's thoughts every time you open a new tab (cmd+T). We are happy to get some feedback!

@jeffumbro Well, I'd say giphy is fun but 2MB+ gifs aren't. They cost you a lot of performance every time you open a new tab. Hellotab is just plain text plus some css animations. Apart from that it's about other people's thoughts, not funny cats. Now it's up to you (:

Really like the serendipity behind the idea. I imagine you can turn into a different type of social network as more people use it. :) Could you build a feature for people to schedule which tab extension to use throughout the day? For example, I'd love to have Momentum in the early morning when I just turn on my computer to remind me the focus of the day, then throughout work day, it'd be Hello Tab to inspire ideas, and Product Hunt around lunch time or later afternoon for a little procrastination to check out new products! :D

Nearly 24 hours after the launch of Hello Tab i thought i give you some numbers: 300 Active extension-users within the last 12 hours 490 Messages posted 23.000 Messages delivered 2.500 Uniq page vistors on https://hellotab.com 180 Peek of users online at once Thanks to all of you who installed the extension and gave it a try! Currently we are trying to figure out how to keep the level of "useful" content and protect from spam ... thats the downside of the possibility to post anonymously :/ More feedback/suggestions appreciated!
