Shorten your Google Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, and Maps links with ggl.link β a free, branded successor to Google's goo.gl link shortener (which has been sunsetted by Google and will stop working August 2024 onwards).
Ever since Google sunsetted goo.gl back in 2018, there hasn't been a reliable & branded alternative/successor to it.
Furthermore, Google just announced yesterday that all goo.gl links will stop working after August 25, 2024: https://dub.co/blog/googl-links
And that's where ggl.link comes in π

What has been the initial response from users, and what features are you planning to add next?
Congratulations on the launch! Love the domain. Just as a suggestion: it may confuse some people that this URL shortener is actually an official Google product. So I would add some small disclaimer to avoid that confusion. Great design and implementation!
Hey @steventey
Is "GGL.LINK" replacing Google's link shortener "goo.gl"? Will it shorten links for Google Drive, Docs, etc. for free since goo.gl is shutting down in August 2024?
Hey Steven and the ggl.link team! π
ggl.link is exactly what we've been missing since Google's goo.gl was sunsetted. The ability to create beautiful, branded short links for Google Docs, Drive, Forms, Sheets, Maps, and YouTube is incredibly valuable. It's reassuring to have a reliable successor now that goo.gl links will stop working after August 25, 2024.

Hello all, I have a question. I'm not trying to be a troll but Im new to short links and came across this but I'm not sure why I wouldn't just use the dub.co thing instead. Could someone please educate me. Sincerely not trying to start shit.
@ivanhoe_alvarez totally fine, thanks for the question Ivan! You are very much welcome to use your own custom domain on Dub β ggl.link is mostly for folks who want a branded link shortener for their Google links (instead of using the generic dub.sh short domain instead).
Congratulations on the launch of GGL.LINK! This free link shortener is perfect for those who need a reliable way to shorten Google Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, and Maps links. It's a great successor to Google's goo.gl, providing a seamless experience for managing and sharing links. Excited to start using it!
