Fuze Cases - Bringing back the audio jack to the iPhone

Do you miss the old school 3.5mm headphones jack on your new iPhone? Not anymore, Fuze Cases are here to let you rediscover it! It adds that jack back to your phone and even provides it with more energy, to let you have your battery life extended, because we all know one battery refill in the morning is not enough to go all day for extreme users!

This right here says it all:

@shimmb isn't that a giant mess? Who would ever want that?

Here's another picture that says it all:

Hey, maker here! I built Fuze because I don't want to give up my audio jack up yet. Apple is great, but like many people, I hated when they killed the audio jack. There are so many uses for the 3.5mm jack beyond music. At Fuze, we want to bring it back and while we’re at it, we want to throw in the extra battery capacity too!

@diego_prince This is a spectacular idea. Glad you decided to tackle it -- looking forward to seeing the final product!
Diego Prince
@robertcalise Thanks Robert! Hoping everything goes well and we can accomplish our mission.

Amazing. (and actually very much in neeeeed). I'm holding off on getting the iPhone 7 until the AirPods come out 😐
Nik Sharma
@nivo0o0 you're gonna get delayed until like march 2017!!
David He
@nivo0o0 Beats Solo 3 being my solution...

I don't understand why you'd want to put a big case on your phone when you could simply just use the dongle? I guess this is specifically for when you need to charge + plug in headphones?
Diego Prince
@d0b0 like Simon showed above, if you want to charge your phone and use the 3.5mm audio jack at the same time it's quite a mess. Fuze is very slim (5mm) and adds almost no weight. It's thinner than the iPhone 7 actually. Many people buy cases anyway, so why not have something that adds the 3.5mm audio jack back into it without adding a large volume or weight. Compare it to something like the one featured on daptr.com which was revered for its innovation. I think we've improved a lot on their idea.
Troy Osinoff
@d0b0 Also, why do you want to worry about carrying around a dongle everywhere? I can't tell you how many times I've left mine at home by accident.
Diego Prince
@yo @d0b0 "Can I borrow your dongle, bro?" is going to be the hottest phase of 2017.
Sam Legge
@yo can't you just leave it attached to your headphones and so you don't have to remember it seperately? Just curious.
Ben Guild
@yo @d0b0 What if the dongle is just connected to your headphones all the time? I don't know why you'd take it off

Be the Apple you want to see.
Joshua Pinter
@calevans Sad but true.
Cem Carak
How much thicker does the case make the overall phone? I am just curious. Thanks!
Diego Prince
@cemedericarak Fuze is incredibly thin at 5mm. It's thinner than the iPhone itself.
Cem Carak
@diego_prince Cool thanks. I still need to add that on the top of the phone's thickness though...
Diego Prince
@cemedericarak the iPhone 7 is 7.1 mm thick making the case and phone 12.1 mm thick.
Ouriel Ohayon
if you plug the lightning headset on your case, will it deliver the sound also? or just via the jack?
Diego Prince
@ourielohayon it will work both ways.

Somebody is actually smart enough to get what the public wants instead of pushing ill fated technology on the masses I doubt that the iphone 7 would have seriously passed any user groups especially at the price of replacement earphones. People don't want radical change---they want the same service made better and this makes it happen.
Sam Legge
@workstationw I don't agree with your last sentence. Consumers might not WANT radical change but they sure do LOVE radical change when it makes their lives better. And to call the removal of the headphone jack a radical technology change is a bit overblown IMO :).
Jinming Zhang
What about wireless charging? It's not hard to add since you are already this far. 🤔
Diego Prince
@jinmingz it's definitely something we'd consider as a stretch goal!

scott wall
So why not buy blue tooth headphones?
Troy Osinoff
@scottwall0 that's your choice too :) -- some people don't want to give up their headphone jack

This is a great idea! Thank you for thinking of this. I'm not fond of the idea of wearing electric toothbrushes in my ears or buying something that my pets will eat, hide or play with (they love my office). I know a number of folks that would definitely go for this. It might keep me from switching back to Android.
Steven Trotter
"Not compatible with iOS 10.3" & "Fuze does not work with Lightning headphones". The first is very worrying and the second seems like a feature that should have been built into the lightning port for flexibility of using 3.5mm or lightning.
Sergio Sala
all I can say is: lol.
Raed Badr
The fact that this exists is just astonishing and Apple should recognize that eliminating the headphone jack was not an innovation, but rather a careless removal of a perfectly functional spec.
Svenn-Petter Mæhle
Backed!

Wish I hadn't tossed out all of my 3.5mm jack headphones just yet! Love the product.
Kyle Dumovic
Would it kill Apple to add 2-3mm in depth to the phone, so it's not stupidly thin, lets us keep our headphone jacks and effectively doubles its battery life? The same goes for the new macbooks. In the pursuit of making everything thinner and lighter to the point that it's no longer necessary, we lose functionality. I love this, I just wish the iPhone had been shipped this way.
Ross Jason
Thank you based god.
