Hello Product Hunters πŸ‘‹ First of all, a big thank you to @chrismessina for hunting this project! I always like to work on weekend projects, this time I wanted to make something I could share with friends when mentioning Twitter to them. I can now just send them the link and they can see a list of interesting Twitter users and can filter it by category. The entire site is managed from a spreadsheet only, with the help of Sheet 2 Site thanks to @andreyazimov. πŸ™Œ In the list of 'Around The Web' links, you will notice a Twitter link. This is the link to a public Twitter list to make it easier for you. Can you think of someone else I should add? Or maybe categories or other suggestions? Let me know, I'd love to hear it!
Federico Jorge
@guillaumebardet This is a great idea! I'd suggest being able to login with Twitter and adding a follow button directly on each card, so you can follow peeps faster.
Guillaume Bardet
@federicojorge Thank you for getting involved and for your kind feedback! Absolutely, I wasn't sure how it would go so I wanted to keep the first version very simple. I will start to work on a 2nd version quite soon. Twitter login and a quick follow have been two of the most requested features πŸ˜€

Finally you launched it!!
Guillaume Bardet
@harowitzblack Haha yes, it was about time! Thanks to you always telling me to ship things already πŸ˜…

Hey mate! :) Nice project. I would like to know how you define "interesting people" Cheers Jens
Guillaume Bardet
@jensger Haha great question Jens! My thinking is I am not necessary the one who can make that decision. I haven't changed the tagline since I started to work on it, it might not be the most suitable one by now. I am just trying to make it easier to find people in a certain niche, to either just follow them or connect. For instance, I am really hoping the indie makers category will connect some people and have them work on something together. Or better yet, an Indie Maker finding a programmer/designer etc. πŸ™‚I might have not found someone to be as interesting as that person found them to be, but who am I to make that decision, you know? πŸ˜…

@guillaumebardet Great reply! Just wanted to know if you using (Buzzword-alert) AI or something ;-) Keep up the good work!
Guillaume Bardet
@jensger I'm glad it made sense to you and thank you for getting involved, I really appreciate it πŸ™‚

Congrats with the launch man! I remember when you just started with a couple of people and now there are hundreds! Great job! Can you please add followers numbers and filters like: [1,000] [1,001...5,000] [5,001...10,000] [10,000+] Thanks for made it with Sheet 2 Site
Guillaume Bardet
@andreyazimov Thank you very much for your suggestion Andrey, that would definitely be a good addition! πŸ™ŒThank you again for the few I reached out and you very quickly got back and helped. I hope Sheet 2 Site is going great and I wish you the best with it and all your other projects πŸ™‚

It’s pretty cool to innovate on the FollowFriday culture! I discovered new people to follow and engage with.

Why not loading usersβ€˜ bio so that we can search by keywords too?

Pros:

Ordered by category, well designed

Cons:

None

Aaron O'Leary
Congrats on the launch! Does it personalise follow recommendations or is it an overall recommendation? :)
Guillaume Bardet
@aaronoleary Thank you for getting involved Aaron! For now, it is just an overall recommendation. The 2nd version will likely have a Twitter login to make it more personalized. :)
Alex Wawl
Congrats with launchπŸ™Œ
Guillaume Bardet
@alexwawl Thank you Alex, I appreciate it! Feel free to send me a DM on Twitter if you'd like to be added just include a category or two and I'll handle the rest :)

Fabien C
Interesting Idea! Hope to see it growth for new features to make it a must have πŸ‘πŸ‘
Guillaume Bardet
@fczls Thank you for getting involved, Fabien! I wanted to keep the first version simple and gather some feedback prior to working on a more complex version. It is also making it a lot easier to know which feature to focus on for the next version πŸ™‚
Musho Pea
Congrats on launching! 😊 Excited to see this project take off and develop further
Guillaume Bardet
@mushopea Thank you very much Musho, it is kind of you! I look forward to having a 2nd version as well. All the feedback has been extremely helpful to know what to focus on πŸ™‚

Wow! Nice to see the same kind of product within two days in PH. Best Tweeps Here (published two days back)(https://www.producthunt.com/post...) and FollowFriday (published today) @guillaumebardet @rrhoover
Guillaume Bardet
@ragupathi_s Thank you for sharing it, I just checked it out. It looks quite nice as well! πŸ™‚

Johann Saunier
Very nice, could be good to have a little introduction to the person when face or name is totally unknown (like twitter description) on hover. Because currently i'm just clicking, open new twitter tab to read description, subscribe or not then close it again and again to discover what they do or have done and the experience is not so good. So a quick overview of bio should really improve the experience ! I hope my comment is constructive to improve it and well done for the launch ! Cheers !
Guillaume Bardet
@johann_saunier Thank you for your feedback Johann, I agree, after many people suggesting that I tried to replace the username field with a short bio but it wouldn't come off great. I am trying to find other ways to have it show, when hovering the card as you suggested seems like the best way to go. :)
Guillaume Bardet
@vladyslavvashchinskyi Thank you for getting involved Vladyslav, I hope you found interesting people to follow! πŸ™‚
Ryan Hoover
This reminds me of @kevinrose's We Follow project from wayyyy back in the day. Personally, I don't need recommendations of higher profile people who have likely hit my feed already or suggested by Twitter itself. As I tweeted a few days ago, I'd find more value in something that can recommend insightful people that are not well known on Twitter (<1K followers).
Guillaume Bardet
@rrhoover Thank you for getting involved Ryan, I really appreciate your insight!

I’ll have to check out Kevin’s project if its still live or maybe on the wayback machine. πŸ™‚ I completely agree, I recall your tweet as well. I wanted to keep it simple for the first version, and get enough feedback to focus on the important features. More detailed filters seems like a must, maybe taking down some of those profiles could be good too.
Daniel Sodkiewicz
Not sure about how others deal with this but I try to keep amount of people I follow on Twitter below 20 at the time. This makes me focus on quality and really enjoy a content and conversation without being overwhelmed. I follow and unfollow people as I switch focus and priorities. this site is a goldmine. Thanks!
Guillaume Bardet
@dansodkiewicz That's an interesting way to do it! I am really glad you found it helpful Daniel :)

Would love to see the list of suggested peoples

Also the last or pined tweet of people listed

Male/female, hum, would prefer other than tech fields to diversify my timeline

Bio attached maybe ?

Love the idea, please keep the iterations going πŸ‘

Pros:

Ability to suggest someone

Range of people (multi)categorised by fields

Simple design

Cons:

None big
