There is yet another app to identify fonts from images: WhatTheFont. The main difference is that WhatTheFont only identifies fonts from MyFonts.com - because they want you to buy the fonts - while Find my Font identifies also free fonts of Dafont.com, Google Web Fonts, etc. It's the perfect tool e.g. to find the best Google Font alternative to a commercial font, because it allows you to visually search for a font in a specific category: All Fonts, Commercial, Freemium or Google Fonts. @krishnade Thank you for sharing! The app is free but has a limit of 5 font-id requests per day + 20 requests on first install. You can use in app purchases to buy some extra credit or totally remove the credit limit: If you purchase the "Unlimited" product, you have unlimited font-id requests on all devices under your iTunes or Google Play account ;)

My first thought was this would be a shitty clone of WhatTheFont. Very glad to see that's not the case and you have improved quite a bit. Awesome job. A web app would be much more useful than mobile apps in my opinion. I'd love to collaborate on a web app with you for this! Think of all the graphic designers working daily from their computers! If we decide to go for a web app we'll be in touch for sure ;) We already have a solution for the professional graphic designers working from their computers. It's "Find my Font Pro": A desktop application which runs on your Mac or Windows computer and identifies all fonts of our online database + the local fonts stored on your computer (either installed or not). Regarding local fonts matching: You can identify text in any Unicode language and the matching speed is about 5 millions fonts per minute. I knew this tool before it was posted here. Been using the desktop version for my design needs. Helped me many times when trying to identify fonts or trying to find similars to old lost fonts that do not exist any more or to commercial ones.

Definitely recommend!

Pros:

- fast!!

- accurate

- lots of fonts from different sites (free and paid options)

Cons:

- crashes once in a while (not too often to be a nuisance though..)

Absolutely love the functionality, not sure about the aesthetics, at least on the Android version which is the one I used. Well done, Fivo, καλή δουλειά (you never see Greek on PH, I thought it was time for some :p )

@antonis_tsagari Thank you Antonis! :) We are bound to use a cross platform tool (Qt) to create the iOS and Android version and as a result there were some serious limitations on UI/UX design, but you are right we'll try to improve the app aesthetics on next update. PS: Yes it was about time for some Greeks on PH. Κάλλιο αργά παρά ποτέ! :P

@rmagrino Hi Robert! :) The Unlimited in-app product is oriented mostly to companies or pro-groups and it offers unlimited font-id requests on ALL your devices, which means you can have 10 or 20 phones & tablets under your account to perform unlimited requests. If you consider how many hours of manual searching you can save by using the app, I think the price is reasonable - not steep. If you are an individual (even a pro) and you only require a few font identifications per day, I think you can do fine with the +30 or +150 in-app products which are much cheaper. Even the daily free limit could be enough for the needs of the average designer.
