Solopreneur, No VC.
I appreciate the good intentions behind this product, but its funky name is just to catch attention like it did mine and nothing else.
The prices of the tools are too low to be true and very hard to believe for the prospects that they will be launched in next 35 or 76 days.
As a free plan user of Trello in the past and still uses it where necessary. The real question is, why would someone like me or a manager of a team choose GuavaTeam without knowing what it includes or not?
Apart from that, I really like the UI of the website.
Good job, Martin!
@shahza1bmushtaq Hey !
Thanks for the feedback !
Prices are low because I want them low. Im not interested about money
Im just here to change the subscription system that we are all tired off that's why it's that low
Im alone and on this project for now and I just want a maximum of people to know and use what I do
Apps are pretty much done (GrapeLink is 100% done) im just launching them one by one
And launching now on ProductHunt to see if people are interested !
Fcksubscription is a suite of SaaS striped down to their essential features, you will have every information at the launch of each app don't worry !
There are a few (big) problems with the single payment business model:
- You have little motivation to keep growing the product as the customer has already paid once
- Your underlying server costs will all be subscription based, and you will realize the pain as your software grows
- Marketing spend and salaries are also monthly (not one time) and again you'll realize this as you grow
Probably gonna be labelled as a dinosaur or SaaS-lover here, but I highly doubt that one-time payment is the future for SaaS or software. Regardless all the best
@dhruv_bhatia I had the exact same thought when I came across this product. The concerns you’ve raised are valid, especially in the context of sustainability and growth. That said, it will be interesting to test the product once it’s launched and see how they address these challenges.
Good luck for the launch @martin_bonan!
To be honest, such tools (one time) does not last lifetime, as server cost goes up with time, so does management cost. Therefore, in coming months, they have to transition into subscription based or end up closing the business. I have tried many in past from appsumo and other marketplace, 40% of them are dead now.
@raman_singh12 Hey !
Im a solopreneur on this
I will not switch to a subscription based
Im not here for the money, im here to make a change
This server cost is bullshit, you can support it by just one time payments
Typeform doesn't need 600€/y subscription to maintain their servers
It's just pure grit and we will change that !

I signed up on this specifically to reply to this comment; I mean it with the best of intentions but this advice will be a bit hard.
From a me perspective; how am I to expect my data to be there into the future? If I am going to invest my time into using something I am going to want to make sure that I have to use in future.
Let’s say I start using Guava and I use it for 5 years. Your software has continued to grow over time and growth has finally plateaued. You now have a reoccurring bill of $500 / month with $0 coming in. What is your plan to deal with it then?
From a you perspective; you say you don’t care about money but how do you live? How do you pay rent or do live with your parents? Food provided for you? Maybe you come from a wealthy family but I know I have these things to think about. It may seem hard to imagine Typeform costing $600 a year but believe it or not that is pretty reasonable after you look past just server costs and you pay yourself for your time, your health insurance, rent, office space rent, tool depreciation, etc.
My recommendation; if you are truly passionate about getting rid of subscriptions look into joining the self hosted open source community or releasing these products to be self hosted. Don’t make us dependent on your future goodwill or financial state .
Great idea and commitment to make subscriptions a thing of the past 😄
Same as another comment, I would love to see more on each product's page - some screenshots + details of what it would look like.
But I read that you'll be launching them one by one so you'll surely add more details then! Good luck!!
@stagio Depends ! I won't ship the features that no one use, I will try to replicate it all at my best.
Im a solomaker on this, if you need a feature I will do it
It's that easy honnestly !
What do you think ?
Love the concept of simplifying SaaS with one-time payments—such a refreshing approach! Excited to see how these tools evolve. Great work, Martin, and best of luck with the launch!
