Estimapp 2.0 - How much does it really cost to make an app?

Hey everyone, We've just re-launched a free cross-platform app that leads you through the deep and entangled forest of app development costs. How much does it cost to make an app? Web or mobile? I don't know. What should it do? Does it have maps? Do you need it urgently? I run a software development studio and making estimates is a part of my usual routine. Clients are always keen to hear a ballpark figure. And they want it _now_. With Estimapp you can give them that number in less than 30 sec. A couple new feature requests 1. Transition costs - any costs to transition the project from 3rd party to an in-house development team. 2. Estimated cost of ongoing maintenance/bug fixes for the app. 3. Estimated cost for new enhancements to the app. 4. Total cost of ownership over 3-5 years.

Any plans to add the feature to change currency?

My life would have been so easy if I had this things when I was getting started. This can also help small development companies here in India who do not know how much to charge and end up quoting either very low or extremely high.

This is fantastic! Have you considered building in an option to save your quote, so you can revisit it later in the app and adjust or discuss with a developer or project manager?

The title of the Step 2 screen is awkward. Why not just make it "Login," "User Accounts," or "Registration and Login?"

I really enjoy running through these calculators and seeing what people estimate for certain tasks. Default rates are quite low, wouldn't you say? Taxes as well?

I like it, but at the final stage it says "who is this quote for?". I added my own email address, expecting you would get in touch with me, however the only options were "share" or "find a dev". I backed out at that point as I wasn't sure what either of those would do. What I wanted was a "contact me" button. Or something else that explicitly communicated that you would get in touch with me to talk about building me an app.

I like the concept, at least so people who 'have an idea' can get a better grasp of what they are actually requesting before they waste someones time and freaking out about the price being too high. Although I find that a lot of the value of the quote comes from helping clients to figure out what is and is not really necessary. I wonder how you would go about making those kinds of suggestions automated based on market data.
