I have the same issue 😅 That's why I built this, especially after my former extension I was using stopped working with YouTube's new sidebar and end-screen video suggestions. @alex_dulub It can block YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram and each can be individually toggled on/off. There are more customizations to come on types of content, but I'm waiting for users to give me feedback, so let me know which sites and types of content you'd like to block!

I already consider myself quite mindful of algorithm-based apps (I have no Instagram on my phone, I don't use Twitter, Facebook etc) so I didn't expect much added value from this app for me personally. It still turned out to be wonderful for protecting me from those intrusive Youtube recommendations. Thank you and congrats on the launch!

I get the idea, it just hides all that! BUT can someone just make an AI that works for you by removing "trash" content that is not productive for us or more like multiple options or predefined level of "trash" quality!

As a big unhook for youtube fan, I really appreciate that these features can now be extended to other social media apps. I had to totally get off other social media cos they just ended up becoming too much of a time sink. Will try it with your extension and see if I can find a middle ground to use those sites in ways that benefit me and not the app makers! @jayanthr I'm glad to find someone who also used Unhook! I wanted to make something a bit simpler and more versatile on other sites, so I hope you enjoy! That Unhook settings page would just sometimes get unwieldy, but if there are more features you wish my app had, don't hesitate 👊🏼

I've used News Feed Eradicator for years, but I found the quotes kind of annoying over time and also wanted more control specifically over YouTube with sidebar and endscreen suggested videos. Additionally, opening a new tab every time you want to show your feed was a slightly annoying process. I find Escape the Algorithm is a lot more seamlessly integrated into your browsing experience with its simple buttons that make less of a statement than a motivational quote and can easily be toggled on/off without adding new tabs.
