We've been trying to hack wireless headphones with a built-in vacuum tube for a few years but had the same problem everyone else before us had with the excess power consumption and the heat put off by vacuum tubes. We solved issues with a cutting-edge valve/tube recently introduced Korg 6P1 tube that runs cool and only uses 2% of the power of a traditional tube. It has all the luxurious euphonic texture of a traditional tube but lasts an astonishing 30,000 hours. We put a tube preamp in a wireless headset to improve the mobile listening experience. Bluetooth sounds comparatively flat and lifeless. The even-order harmonics associated with tubes fill out the sound and add warmth and realism to compressed digital music. For the purist who would never consider listening wirelessly, there is also a 3.5mm port for analog input and a USB-C for lossless digital—three ways to enjoy authentic vacuum tube audio when you are away from your home HiFi. We are pretty stoked about these headphones and are moving into production starting with a crowdfunding effort on Kickstarter and Indiegogo In-demand.
