Dragonfly - A better Bluesky experience starts with drafts and bookmarks

Hey everyone! 👋

We’re Sébastien & Inès, the duo behind Dragonfly. Our goal was simple: bring Bluesky to desktop with added features that make it better and easier to use! But as we kept using it, we saw the need to expand, so we launched on iPad. Now, we're working on mobile (iOS & Android), with Windows and Linux coming next.

Like many of you, we love Bluesky, but we also felt it was missing some key features and wasn’t available on enough devices. So instead of waiting, we decided to build it ourselves! Dragonfly makes Bluesky smoother, more intuitive, and more user-friendly.

What makes Dragonfly special?

Alongside most of native Bluesky features, we’ve added some much-needed upgrades:

✅ Bookmarks – Save posts & organize them into collections

✍️ Drafts – Start a post, save it as a draft, edit it and publish it later

🔄 Pick up where you left off – Keep scrolling from where you paused last time you used the app

👥 Multi-account support – Switch between accounts seamlessly, in just 2 clicks

🔔 Smart notifications – Notifications are sorted into tabs for better clarity (e.g., likes, mentions, follows, quotes...)

🧵 Improved threads & replies layout – Wavy lines for threads and straight lines for replies make conversations more intuitive and easier to follow.

What’s next?

We’re hard at work on iOS and Android, with Windows and Linux next in line! Plus, we're bringing exciting new features:

- Push notifications

- Synchronization of bookmarks and last-read posts across devices

- Chat

🎉 Congrats Sébastien @sgruhier & Inès @odubudesign on launching Dragonfly! I’m thrilled to finally have drafts ✍️ and bookmarks ✅ (collections are chef’s kiss!). The multi-account support 🔄 and smart notifications 🔔 are game-changers for power users like me.

Small suggestion: Since syncing bookmarks across devices is already on your roadmap, could adding search/filter within bookmark collections be prioritized? It’d save hours when curating content! Also, any plans for scheduled drafts? That’d make Dragonfly the ultimate Bluesky toolkit! 💡

👏 How do you plan to balance cross-device sync with performance?

This is such a thoughtful take on improving Bluesky! The additions like bookmarks, drafts, and seamless multi-account support really make the experience smoother. How do you plan to handle syncing data across all devices, especially with new features like push notifications and chat coming soon?

Interesting idea. Do you also offer better reporting? I find quite annoying that blue sky doesn't report about post views.
