@ZacDavies no. it removes all other distractions; such as notifications of comments on posts and friend requests etc. so it gives you the facebook messages screen, but without other distractions to encourage you interacting on facebook in other ways. as many people say they come to facebook to message someone, then get lost doing other stuff on the site
