Hi hunters & makers, I am an indie app developer working on Diarium for nearly 4 years and was previously released for Windows, Android & iOS. Today I am excited to announce that Diarium now also is available on macOS! 🎉 The goal of Diarium is to bring journaling into the 21st century and to prove that writing a diary can be fun & easy. It helps you by reminding to write a daily entry and making the process as easy as possible. The app integrates with your social media accounts and, in the case of Twitter, can display your tweets for the corresponding day. Also, your iOS camera roll is automatically imported and displayed, making it easy for you to remember what you did on a specific day, in case you forgot. The app syncs with the mobile phone counterparts on iOS & Android and offers a one-time purchase (no subscription!) for advanced Pro features, like Word export of your journal.

Looks nice but what is different from Day One? Why should I switch?

Thanks for your question @keepaustinaj! I only used Day One briefly but I think Day One does not allow attaching any kind of files (like .pdf, .txt, ...) while Diarium does allow that. Also, the Premium version of Day One is a subscription that costs at least $3/month while the Pro version of Diarium is a one-time-purchase of ~$10. Additionally, Diarium has a Windows app, while Day One doesn't. Diarium also offers options to take a picture or make audio/video recordings right inside the app - I haven't found that feature in Day One. Day One is certainly a good app but Diarium might be a better choice for some people for the reasons mentioned. By the way: Diarium offers a import option for Day One backups so you can migrate all your existing data to Diarium

I’m using DayOne for a long time but this one is much better. User interface is much cleaner and functionality is way better. Also there is no subscription. I’m happy to finally find the journaling app I’m looking for long time. Thanks and please continue to improve it.

@ivanyc Will certainly continue to improve the app, this is just the very first version of macOS. Thanks for your kind words, very motivating!
