Dayo is a free app that pays you to use less social media. Keep your daily use under 30 minutes and get $5 bucks a day. The money can be used in Dayo’s marketplace of goods and services.
Dayo is the first app that has helped me truly use less social media. The pop up screens break my trance and the money motivates me to stay on target and reward myself. But the true reward has been increased focus, improved mental health, and spending more time doing what I love instead of staring at my phone.
@busmark_w_nika good question, we do hope the video explains a lot of it but it is a rewards marketplace. you earn dollars towards massive discounts on your favoirte DTC bradns like JBL, Powell's Books, Rumpl, Yeti, Fellow, etc.. so the brand is giving you their best price typically 30-40% off, beacuse you are saying i want this so much that I'm going to reward myself with it from money I earned trying to acheive my social media goals. We will also have free drops as well, digital assets, etc..hope you like it
@busmark_w_nika@corey_scholibo Cool concept. So there is a maximum amount of credit someone could use towards a product? For example someone can't use credit to pay for 100% of the product. How will you account for users who install Dayo on their phone but use social media on a different device like an ipad or laptop? :)
I really like the idea of this app. Actually, spending time excessively on social media is not only a time loss, but also a money loss (except for some occupations).
Getting paid for saving my time and money? There no reason to decline this service :)
@hyuntak_lee we think so. we really want a win win for the consumer and the brands. trying to create an additive rathar than extractive marketplace, with added cultural and mental health ramifications
This is genius—finally a win-win for mental health and wallets! 💸 How does Dayo fund the payouts? Ads, sponsors, or another model? Sustainability is key!
@ptriatoThat’s the kind of testimonial every digital wellness app dreams of. You can feel how Dayo isn’t just blocking social media—it’s reprogramming habits in a way that actually sticks.
Here’s what stands out:
✅ Interrupts the scroll trance – Those intentional pop-ups break the muscle memory of mindless swiping. Super effective way to trigger mindfulness.
💸 Monetary motivation – Putting skin in the game makes it feel more real. Reward loops tied to savings or productivity? Smart and sticky.
💡 Real benefits beyond screen time – It’s not just about less phone time—it’s about more life lived. Focus, peace, joy… that’s what makes a habit change worth it.
Dayo sounds like a total breakthrough for anyone looking to reclaim their time and focus! 🙌 I love how the combination of pop-up reminders and real rewards keeps you on track—it’s such a clever way to stay motivated. 💡 How does the money reward system work—can you choose how much you earn as you stay focused, or is it set automatically?
@jonurbonas you get $5 a day. Stay off social after 30 minutes and keep all of it in your wallet. Or lose around .04C a minute by staying on and watch your goals get further away. Had a bad day, earn some back by watching inspirational videos. Its all the make it easier on you.
I'm curious - How does the app track usage? How do you prevent someone from gaming the system? I mean, imagine that someone creates clones of the same app on a phone and logs in with different IDs and doesn't install social media apps at all.
Got to be apart of the beta version and it was awesome then and excellent now! Love how when I, literally do more of what I want and less of socials I get great deals on products I can get behind. Thanks Dayo!
This is a novel concept! What categories of products and services are available in the Dayo’s marketplace currently? If the marketplace has a wide range of appealing options, users will be more attracted to use it.
@evakk Everything from books from Powell's (the largest independent bookstore in the world) Yeti, drinks at locla bars, La Cruset, Rumpl blankets, JBL speakers. You name it.

How does that part with rewarding work? 😅 I somehow didn't get that from the website instructions.

@busmark_w_nika @corey_scholibo So people are paid discounts/coupons right? Or can users cash out (really...omg that will be a killer)

@corey_scholibo I hope that people will have a strong will :)

@busmark_w_nika it's just an affiliate scheme masked as an app

What's the catch?
Dayo
@ptriato @ashitvora it is all on the same phone, so that is not possible. It tracks the phone number and the phone apps associated to that phone.
Monetizing reduced screen time is innovative! 👀
Dayo
@shenjun we think so. Thank you!
Wow, this is a great idea, any info on whether you're planning to make it available outside the US? I'm from Ukraine btw.
Got to be apart of the beta version and it was awesome then and excellent now! Love how when I, literally do more of what I want and less of socials I get great deals on products I can get behind. Thanks Dayo!
Oh, then in what form can the rewards be used? I’m asking because it seems like the rewards might need to be tailored differently for each country.
Dayo
@kay_arkain the rewards are all money. it is what you apply the money towards that personalizes the reward

@chloeyang1990 thank you.
“While giving nothing in return” gave me strong “what have the romans ever done for us?” vibes.
Nonetheless, cool idea! Shame it’s only available in the US.
Dayo
@duarteosrm soon. we gotta get the US up and running and then we will head across the globe. What country are you in?
@corey_scholibo Switzerland!
Very interesting! Congrats on your launch, Corey!
