Crytopcats are cute little 8-bit cats on the Ethereum Blockchain. The ownership for each of these cats is stored on Ethereum. Ethereum is a decentralised platform that runs the smart contracts, powering the CryptoCat ownership. Applications on Ethereum run exactly as programmed without any possibility of censorship or third party interference.

@mackflavelle Haha, so much cat blockchain competition! Nice to meet you Mack. I must say, when we heard about Crypto Kitties it motivated us to try and get to Main Net first. Oh, and we are working on some special cats to give to you and the team :)

Just a really great idea and concept based on ethereum. Seems simple at a glance but in reality it opens our eyes to the possibilities of blockchain technologies and how they change the way we look at ownership.

Hi! I’m Gendry and am the product lead for the CryptoCats. We created these cats to get first hand experience building full stack blockchain use cases on the Ethereum platform. It’s a great way for us to learn about how people interact with a blockchain experience and what makes it uniquely different as a product. We all come from a modern product delivery specialisation, and are applying story mapping, lean startup thinking, a stronger focus on UX and an incremental release strategy to blockchain products. We initially release 12 cats on the blockchain to challenge ourselves on finding the smallest MVP that could go live on the Ethereum Main Net to test our product, and plan to learn and adapt from there. We have plenty of new features and cat releases coming soon! And we are having an absolute blast making this, and will be sharing our journey along the way to help people learn more about ethereum, tokens and the blockchain in a fun way.
