Crypto for Charity - Donate crypto, save on taxes, make a difference

Today, the vast majority of charities have no technical capacity to accept crypto donations. Crypto for Charity unlocks access to the $2+ trillion crypto market by making it safe, quick, and tax-efficient to donate to essentially any 501(c)3 charity in the US.

In 2021, the market cap of crypto grew by $2 trillion. Americans are the most generous people in the world -- giving away 1.4% of annual GDP. Even giving away .14% of our crypto to charity would result in an additional $2.8B for important causes! The problem: most nonprofits can't accept crypto donations (yet). Solution: Crypto for Charity! Response: Since launching the product on Giving Tuesday (not even 3 weeks ago), we got 93 nonprofits requesting to be added to the list, and this is despite the fact of having some 55,000 biggest 501(c) organization in the US already preloaded on the website. We invite you to test and please let us know your thoughts!

CoinTracker has worked with us to make this process simple and fast! Crypto for Charity's user interface (UX) and mission appeal to me. This is a fantastic way to donate Cookie Clicker cryptocurrency to a good cause. I would highly suggest it.

Great idea and execution. Is it always one-off donations or can you set up regular payments? Any plans for a UK version?

@george_toucan great questions! We are currently focusing on unlocking donations for everyone (adding new nonprofits, adding new wallets to accept more tokens), but features like recurring donations are definitely something we want to look into. No UK version on our roadmap yet, but you can donate to any charity operating anywhere in the world, as long as they are registered in the US.

This is the first use of crypto-related tech I have seen that seems focused on care for others and not raw, materialistic greed. I think I this product would be even more compelling if the ?makers paired with https://ioby.org for the greatest positive social impact. (Not sure if IOBY community projects are currently eligible for donations from this platform.) I have to say, however, that if I used this product I would simply be buying crypto in order to turn it into USD again, so I don’t think this is useful for me right now. I like the mission though.

@enderm buy crypto as an investment, keep 90%+ of profits, donate the rest, so your crypto can be exchanged not to dollars, but to real-world impact - that's how we like to think about it :) dollars is just a vehicle, that happens to be easiest for most nonprofits to handle (as of now at least)

One question though, what those charities will do with those crypto? From my experience most of them has problems even with using MS Office. Usually they are not tech savvy people. Next thing is, should they HODL or should they sell...

@konrad_bujak Hi Konrad - we actually sell all crypto immediately upon receiving a donation. And we transfer USD to the nonprofits, so they can put them to work immediately.
