Croquet’s Microverse World Builder is a development environment for the Open Metaverse that lets web and web3 developers rapidly create multiuser 3D Metaverse worlds that can be published to any web server, completely independent of proprietary platforms.

Hello Product Hunt! At Croquet, we are proud to announce the Microverse World Builder is launching here today. Our vision is for a democratized Open Metaverse where creators and developers can build shared experiences limited only by their imagination and JavaScript. We hope to foster a community of web and web3 developers who partner with creators and creatives to use the web as a platform for an augmented conversation that can be published on any web server free from proprietary platforms. As part of our launch, we hope to reach developers who want to test the limits of existing technologies by building synchronized, multiuser 3D virtual worlds. To help get started with that task, our platform includes sample worlds, a flexible avatar system, compatibility with most 3D objects and connectors to external data systems. Additionally, with what we call Behaviors, JavaScript developers can extend functionality within the worlds to create interactions not possible with other closed platforms. Finally, we’ve made the Microverse World Builder Open Source and available on github (https://github.com/croquet/micro...) and look forward to collaboratively building an ecosystem that enables an Open Metaverse. We’re very excited to see the worlds that you build and would love to feedback as we embark on this journey together.
