I recently made a project i really wanted to have for a long time. A single place for people to find, share and save cli commands.
Really looking for feedback. What would you like to see in a tool like this? What other categories should be supported? I'm thinking Tmux and Python next if the community wants it.
Feel free to contribute and let me know your first reactions!
Hey Rene,
How do you ensure the quality and accuracy of the commands shared on the platform?
Have you considered adding a feature for users to create personal command collections or favorites?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin Hey yes I do. So once you contribute a command the post will be 'pending-review' while I ensure quality. Question: If you were to add to a category which category of command would you contribute to?
Congrats to the CommandFor team on the launch! A valuable platform for discovering, sharing, and saving essential commands—perfect for fostering community collaboration and streamlining workflows!
Hi Rene,
Tried to authorize but it redirects me to `http://localhost:3000/?code=...` instead of ...
Pls, check. I have other project on my localhost ;-)
This is exactly what I’ve been searching for! Managing and discovering CLI commands can be such a hassle, and having a centralized place to find, share, and save them will definitely streamline my workflow. I love the idea of expanding into specific categories like Tmux and Python—those are tools I use daily and having tailored commands for them would be incredibly valuable. It would be awesome to see features like user ratings or favorites to highlight the most effective commands. Also, maybe integration with popular code editors or version control systems in the future could take it to the next level. Great job bringing this to life, and I’m excited to contribute and see how the community grows around it!
I recommend CommandFor — it's like Pinterest, but for CLI commands! This is a great solution for system administrators, developers, and anyone who regularly works with the command line so that they don't waste time searching for the right commands on the Internet.
Nice useful tool, especially if more complex bash/Windows commands are added. By the way, the layout switching button is inverted (you have to click on the current layout to change it).
