Hi producthunt! Axel from cchound here (accompanied by @frida_wilhelmsson, @martinhs & @gylbert). We're happy to answer the questions or comments that you might have. We created cchound to help content creators find audio for their projects, something that we've struggled with ourselves. If you're interested in seeing the roadmap as it is right now, click below: https://trello.com/b/SAn8emo2/cc... As you might notice, it's heavily influenced by the feedback we got on HN, and we'd like to shape it further with the feedback you might have here! Thanks! /a

@frida_wilhelmsson @martinhs @gylbert @aabergkvist Very nice product, the UI is 👌, and there are NO INTRUSIVE ADS which is pretty much unheard of for this kind of free product. I'm interested then, how do you plan on making money? P.S. You do your kanbans from right to left, not left to right? 🤔
axel antas-bergkvist
@booligoosh Thank you Ethan!! We have a couple of options available when it comes to monetization, and even though ads is a potential solution, we don't think it's the right way to go in this industry/vertical, at least not the way it's been done previously. - Monthly Membership Fee with added value, think flaticon, most likely. The theme is created by a japanese developer, that's a really nice catch :p

Thank you for this! This is really cool collection! ❤️ One thing is annoying - when you want to play next track you have to pause previous one.

@ariel_jedrzejczak Thank you Ariel! - Yes, we're implementing a fix for that asap (it's in the first column in the roadmap)! best, a

@ariel_jedrzejczak I've relaunched cchound.com, and this is one the things that we fixed while doing so! ps. I promise that fixes will be implemented faster moving forward :p

Looks awesome, I may use this down the track and will recommend to some friends I know who make videos!

Pros:

Great UI, NO INTRUSIVE ADS

Cons:

Very slow to load

axel antas-bergkvist
Thank you for the review Ethan! The performance part is prioritized indeed, we should have the speed back at an acceptable level this weekend. best, a

@booligoosh I'm happy to tell you that we've fixed the sitespeed now, as I've rebuilt the entire site and moved away from tumblr. Ps I promise that fixes will be implemented faster moving forward :p
Ethan
@aabergkvist Oh wow, I'm very impressed that you even remembered this comment two years later, haha. Nice, loading seems fine for me now, and the site is looking really good! :)

@booligoosh You can't make a better future if you don't remember the past! Thank you for the feedback on the design! :)

I love me some free music (with attribution no problem at all). Thank you very much for this! Simple, clean and direct UI. Absolutely love it! I've listen to a couple of it and damn do they sound pretty good. As someone who makes videos every now and then I look forward to using them in my future videos!

@swiftpolar Thank you so much! Glad you like it!

I'm really happy to see a new source of curated CC musics but I hate the Tumblr UI, especially this bad pagination...

It's ok for casual users but I think creators need more control and tools to find the perfect songs.

It looks like most of the files came from Soundcloud, so a simple playlist might be better for now.

I hope cchound will become a "real" website with a clean UI and more sources that I don't know yet 🙂

Pros:

A new source of CC musics, Ad-free

Cons:

Tumblr is a poor choice, popular sources

axel antas-bergkvist
Thank you Artwo! This is some great feedback! Regarding the Cons part: - Even though we launched this (as an MVP, to see if people really needed this) only last friday, the feedback and usage has been overwhelming to say the least. Due to this, we've already started building "the 2.0". With the new release we will fix: - The UI, with focus on search/categorization. - A profile area, for both contributors as well as end-users: stats, save for later, save to collection and more is a part of this. - The performance issues (which is also the reason why we don't utilize an endless-scroll right now) @martinhs, could you chip in regarding sources and the selection? :)
Martin Hedberg Söderström
Thanks so much for the feedback, Artwo! Regarding the sources: I am currently (and since a while back) scouring the web to find as many alternate or "rare" sources we can to have as diverse of a collection as possible. Soundcloud has just been such a great resource for the type of sound that catches our ear. The aim is to consolidate so you don't have to search it out on your own. A variety of sources/genres/sounds is for sure the end game though. More sources are in the send queue!

Few of the tracks sound great. Attribution should be given in the video? How does that work?
Martin Hedberg Söderström
@sagar868 Hey Sagar! In a youtube video for example, attribution is generally given in the description of the video. However, there isn't any one correct way to give attribution. You can check out what Creative Commons themselves have to say on the matter here: https://creativecommons.org/faq/...

Could you please think about iOS music box application work like radio.
Vitold Sedyshev
Could you please think about integration wia API with popular desktop player (and stay in order with Jamendo, Last.FM and etc.).

Great concept but tags seem broken and navigation of any real depth or research is near impossible. Running this on Tumblr seems like a tall task. Still, appreciate and support the effort.
